It is important to keep in mind the commitment and responsibility that you are accepting and taking upon yourself in becoming a representative for the Student Council Association of Dominion High School. SCA is an organization that represents the entire student body, and its representatives play a critical role in making student government both a vital and contributing part of Dominion High School.

2014 TIMELINE AND DUE DATES FOR APPLICATIONS:

Wednesday, September 25th Applications available at SCA meetings and outside of room 108.

Wednesday, October 1stCompleted application due to SCA Officers (Shannon Weatherly, Kenya Jones, Megan DiDomenico, Shannon Traynor, Ashley Koranteng, and Hannah Tarro) by 9 a.m or to the blue folder outside of Ms. Smith’s room (108).

Late applications will not be accepted.

October 17, 2014 The list of accepted representatives will be posted outside of Ms. Smith’s room at the end of the day (Room 108) and announced at theNovember SCA meeting. Remember, homecoming committee performance determines SCA acceptance! Please note, representatives are eligible to enroll in the Leadership class at Dominion for next year only if they have been a member for ONE YEAR PRIOR. 

APPROVAL will be determined by:

A completed, on-time candidacy packet.
A majority of positive current teacher recommendation forms.
A GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Active participation in Homecoming 2014 events.

SCA Representatives are expected to be responsible leaders who help in planning certain activities and making important decisions that affect the school. They participate in monthly meetings before school.

As a representative it is necessary to maintain good grades and display appropriate behavior in and out of the school atmosphere.

Please attach a 200 word essay, at maximum, explaining why you would like to be a representative, ideas on how to engage the student body, and how you are qualified for this position of leadership. (New Members only)
