1. Create a New Folder Named Certification Practice

Certification Guided Practice: The Big Bang Theory

1.  Create a new folder named Certification Practice.

2.  From Mrs. Tart’s website download and save GP - The Big Bang Theory.docx in this new folder and perform the following tasks.

3.  Change the AutoRecover file location to this new folder.

4.  Add matey to the AutoCorrect options as an exception for proofing.

5.  Unlock the aspect ratio of the cast picture and change the size to 2.00” x 3.35”.

6.  Search the document and change every occurrence of Howard to Howie in Freestyle Script, Bold, 14pt, Orange, Accent 6, Darker, 25%, double underline.

7.  Change the title of the document to Gradient Fill – Blue, Accent 1, Outline –White, 16pt. (HINT: It’s a Text Effect preset)

8.  Set the paragraph spacing of “Scene: The Apartment” to 6pt before, 12pt after.

9.  Find the first occurrence of the name Spock and add a comment that reads First mate on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Change the username of Word to Capt. Kirk, initials JTK. Next add a comment at the TV-14 that reads Parents are strongly cautioned/May be unsuitable for children under 14 years of age.

10.  Change the font theme to Horizon and the theme effects to Concourse.

11.  Set all paragraphs so that they will not be separated by a page break.

12.  Insert a Cubicles Odd Page footer so that it only shows on odd pages. The company should be the name of the episode, it may now have Johnston County Schools. Delete any other controls.

13.  Create an Agenda (Capsules design) document from a template and save it to your new folder as Big Bang Theory Fan Conference. Create this document as a blog post but do not publish. (Don’t save the new document that was created)

14.  Save a copy of the agenda as a pdf file.

15.  Make the picture a hyperlink to the show’s CBS site: http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_bang_theory/

16.  Set the AutoRecover saving time to every 7 minutes.

17.  Change Autocorrect options so that text is not replaced as you type.

18.  Make a text hyperlink at the bottom of the document to the top of the document.

19.  Modify the header margin so it is .78” from the top.

20.  Apply 1.5 expanded character spacing to Sheldon’s first lines then paint the formatting to the rest of his lines.

21.  Add a diagonal custom watermark to the document that reads “Mrs. Tart’s Favorite Show.” Make the font Kristen and the color Aqua, Accent 5, Lighter 40%.

22.  Add negs to the AutoCorrect options as an exception for proofing.

23.  Restrict editing, with no password, to only allow editing track changes.

24.  Copy & paste a Google image of Sheldon to the bottom of the document, set text wrapping to Tight, and the position 40% relative to the inside margin. Stop protection and accept all changes.

25.  Find and replace every occurrence of Penny (if you are female) or Raj (if you are male) with your name formatted as Bold Italic, expanded character spacing by 2”, font color Red, Accent 2, Darker 25%.

26.  Apply a .7” left indent to all of Penny’s lines.

27.  Display the Comment Reviewing Pane. Show only comments from Capt. Kirk.

28.  Remove widow and orphan protection. Delete all comments.

29.  Change the table to text separated by semi-colons (;).

30.  Change the first occurrence of Leonard’s name to Heading 3. Use format painter to paint all the other occurrences of his name to Heading 3. (HINT: Launch the Styles pane & click the Manage Styles button at the bottom. Select the Heading you want displayed in the Styles gallery & Click Show.) Double space after the document’s title and insert a Table of contents, Fancy style, with hyphen leaders. Move the picture down if it covers any part of the TOC.

31.  Change the line spacing for the entire document to 1.5”

32.  Set the AutoRecover saving time to back to 10 minutes.

33.  Change Autocorrect options back so that text is replaced as you type.

34.  Set Howard’s last lines to a hanging indent.

35.  Insert a 2x6 table (add more rows if necessary) at the end of the document with the following information about the cast:

36.  Set the row height of the table to .25” and merge the cells in the first row and center the title. Apply an Orange, Accent 6, Lighter 60% shade to the first row. Sort the table in alphabetical order by the actors’ name.

37.  Justify all of the characters lines.

38.  Apply a triple-line box page border, 1 ½ pt, measured from text.

39.  View 2 pages of the document in the window.

40.  Run spell check.

41.  Change the zoom to 100%.

42.  Save your changes and submit when/how instructed.
