Rain or Shine ( 9 AM – 2:30 PM ) ( during the school day )

Schedule

7:30-9:00 AM Set-up for Union Camp, Confederate Camp, and various Learning Stations on the Trail of History.

7:30 – 8:15 AM Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast served by the FFA at Dooley Park Pavilion. Free meal for Living Historians/Reenactors.

9:00-Noon Trail of History Learning Stations (Move Along at a Steady Pace)
(All Stations Located South and West of Grade School/Go to as many as you can.)

Civil War Cricket Game / Civil War Cavalry – School of the Soldier

Lunch Gondola sandwich lunch (meal includes gondola sandwich, cookie, chips and drink) for $5.00 and will be served in the shaded confines of Dooley Park.

11:00-11:45 (4th, 5th and 6th grades)

11:45-12:15 (7th, and 8th grades)

12:15-12:45 Reenactors (free)

(Go to the pavilion in Dooley Park for sack lunch!!!)


At 12:30 begin the walk over to the Middle School Gym and be seated.

12:30-1:15 PM Civil War Storyteller / Court Martial Trial – Middle School Gym
Mike Lockett of the Twin City Tailspinners will present some Civil War Era stories. President Lincoln will decide the fate of a Union Soldier who deserted the field of battle. Military Court Tribunal.

1:25 PM Walk west of the high school to the battlefield.

1:30-2:30 PM Civil War Battle Reenactment (Over 50 Reenactors)
Featuring Confederate and Union troops. Spectators stay outside the battle area and maintain a respectful distance from the re-enactors. Cannons, rifles, bayonets, etc. will be fired and on display.
(West of the high school and south of the grade school)

2:30-3:00 PM Clean-up and Tear-down

Teachers, students, and spectators please contain your garbage and dispose of properly.
