SAMPLE LETTER TO DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS/SCHOOL BOARDS RE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY AWARENESS WEEK

I/we am/are writing to request that [NAME OF DISTRICT] recognize November 10–-14, 2014, as National School Psychology Awareness Week. Schools around the country will be participating in activities designed to engage students at all levels of development to meet challenges, build new skills, and become thriving members of a thriving school community. As you know, the [# of] school psychologists in our district provide a range of services related to students’ academic achievement and well-being. The theme of this year’s activities will be “Strive. Grow. Thrive!” with a focus on engaging students to promote personal achievement, growth, and resilience, as well as a sense of connectedness and well-being.
