Activity Description/Location Day
Women’s Ensemble-Program is ongoing for 8th grade Tuesday
Chorus members who have auditioned and been selected.
Meet in room 23.
Math Olympiad-A math competition where there are 5 monthly Tuesday
contests, from November to March. This program is for students
with a passion for mathematics. Meet in room 101b.
Origami-Students will have the opportunity to create origami and Tuesday
display their work in school. Meet in room 203, from 4-5:00.
Flag Football- Learn football rules while playing games. Wednesday
Meet on the Front Field.
Jazz Band- Open to all students in the Roton Band. Interested Wednesday
students need to contact Mr. Sousa to schedule an audition. The
first rehersal will be on October 19.
Lego Robotics-Introduces block programming skills with Lego Wednesday
Mindstorms EV3 software and completes a build of a robot
to perform missions autonomously. Meet in room 201,
from 3-5:00. First 12 students to turn in their permission slips.
Literary Magazine- Students will share creative writing and publish Wednesday
a literary magazine. Meet in room 313.
Yearbook Club- Open to 8th graders only, who are interested in working Wednesday
on all aspects of yearbook production. Meet in room 206B.
Roton Community Foundation-RCF is Roton’s community service Wednesday
organization. Members are 7th and 8th graders who have already
been recommended by their teachers. Meetings are held the first
and third Wednesday of each month in room 207.

Extramural Sports
Students have already tried-out for Roton's travel teams, which will involve competition at each of the middle schools in Norwalk.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome to attend home extra-mural events. Students must have a signed permission slip (available prior to each home game), which will then serve as their admission ticket. Transportation arrangements must be made in advance and agreed to by parents.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Session Dates: October 4-November 17
This brochure provides the activity schedule and descriptions
for the after-school/extra-mural programs
for the Fall 2016 session. Most activities meet once each week.
Activities run from 2:50 p.m. – 4:05 p.m.
WHEELS bus tokens will be available to all students who normally
ride a bus. The bus pick-up is 4:20. Please note the appropriate WHEELS bus stop may not be the same as your school bus stop. Please discuss the bus stop location with your child.
