Biography Assignment Sheet
1. Get this paper signed by your parents; this is worth 5 points of your grade. The signature is due ______.
2. You may choose from the following:
You may “become” your hero. Dress, act, talk like the person chosen. Use any props you think will enhance your talk. You must turn in a paper of at least 1-½ pages in length, typed, double-spaced, 12-point font. Use at least three sources. Please cite your sources at the end. You must come prepared to talk about this person for 10-15 minutes.
Create a “dedication” board honoring your hero’s life. You may use thick poster board and put all pertinent information of this person’s life on the board. Use at least three sources. Cite them somewhere on your board.
Create a multi-media project depicting your hero’s life, such as a Power Point presentation or simple Webpage. Use graphics such as pictures, charts, tables, graphs, timelines, or anything else you can think of to include. Use at least three sources. Cite your sources at the end of the presentation. Please cite any pictures, graphs, etc. that you use as well.
Use at least three different sources and research your hero’s life. Then create a diary. You are to write the diary in first-person. Make it look authentic, like a diary this person would have. Use dates as a timeline of important events. Please have at least 15 well-written diary entries of at least 3/4 a page each. At the end of the diary, please cite your sources.
3. Tell me by ______which type of project you will do and who you have chosen. Give me a good, solid, written reason (at least ½ page written, ¼ page typed, double-spaced, 12 point font) of why you chose this person. This will be worth 5 points of your grade. Also, you will have a biography web sheet (we will go over an example in class) and biography information sheet due to me by ______to let me know that you are researching your hero. You will need two copies of each, one to turn into me, and one to keep for yourself. This is worth 10 points of your grade.
4. Your due date is ______. Bring your rubric with you (I will hand out your rubric after you have made your project choices!) It will be worth 5 points of your grade. The assignment sheet and rubrics will be on my website just in case!!!!!!
I have a list of 900 biographies from the library if you can’t think of a hero. The person can be alive or dead. It can be an artist, sport’s figure, musician, civil rights’ hero, war hero, entrepreneur, political figure, or anyone else you can think of. It has to be someone you admire.
