Guideline ofthe ReimeiResearch Program

1.General Rules

1.1.The accepted research project should be carried out under the joint research arrangement among JAEA and the applicants’ institutions.

1.2.The joint research, in principle, should be implemented at JAEA and the applicants’ institutions.

1.3.For promotion of the joint research, a workshop is to be held as the “ASRC International Workshop”.

2.Research Budget

2.1The budget must be managed and implemented adequately at the applicants’ institutions. Please note that unauthorized use of the budget may result in cessation of the research and reimbursement of the budget. Besides, the case may be publicized.

2.2Amounts of remittance, out of the assigned amount, to the applicants’ institutions are to be a minimum amount required by the applicant’s institutions. Allocation is to be consulted among the collaboratorsin advance of submitting the Research Budget Plan.

2.3The payment of the research budget is, in principle, to be made at the beginning of the joint research term.

2.4Examples of the budget use are;

Consumables

Travel expense (also applicable to attendance to workshops under the Reimei program, and to the Reimei Evaluation Committee meeting)

Others (facility usage charges, etc.)

2.5Employment costs and rewards for cooperators including project members are not applicable to the use of this research budget.

2.6Overhead costs shall not be covered by this research budget.

2.7If a travel expense is to be paid to the person other than the member of the joint research, submit a document on necessity .

2.8 In principle, JAEA will transfer the fund in JPY. Therefore, we recommend receivers to have a bank account which accepts money transfer in JPY.

3.Report

3.1In the end of the research term (in the end of Japanese fiscal year), a report on the detail of expenses is required. The budget should be spent according to your Research Budget Plan.

3.2The principal researcher is required to make a presentation on research archievements at the ReimeiResearch Evaluation Committee in March 2019.A written report(Form 5) is also required to be submitted by the end of April 2019.

4.Intellectual Property Rights

4.1Intellectual property rights are, in principle, to be handled according to the JAEA regulation.

5.Acknowledgement

5.1In publishing research results (papers, presentations, etc.), an indication that the research was carried out under the Reimei Research Program is necessary.

Example: The present work/study/material/research was (partially) conducted under

theReimei Research Program of Japan Atomic Energy Agency.
