Kappa Alpha Theta Omaha Alumnae Chapter

The Kite Flyer

Fall, 2011

A WORD FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Hello Thetas!

Well, we're almost through the summer, and your Board is busy making plans for another great year of programs and meetings. And I am looking forward to representing our chapter at Grand Convention next summer.

With that said, I remind you to please send in your dues. Your dues envelop was sent in the spring newsletter, reflecting the change of our dues schedule from a fiscal year to the calendar year. With this being a grand convention year, we really want to bring home another Golden Kite award - representing and acknowledging our strong, supportive membership.

Thanks so much to our Patron Program members, for supporting our annual scholarship to an Omaha native collegiate Theta. This summer we were happy to present a check to Christina Roberts, our 2011 scholarship winner. She is busy preparing to take the MCATs in September and hopes to be able to make her career here in Omaha. We look forward to seeing her around this coming year.

On July 16th, CASA held its inaugural "5.8K Run to Benefit CASA" at Midtown Crossing. Omaha resident, John MacKenzie climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro last year to benefit CASA, and then organized the 5.8 K run to do the same. CASA was thrilled to have 300+ participants, making this first year a huge success! A special “thanks” goes out to our alumnae members and family who braved the heat to either run the race or volunteer as cheerleaders and support crew. I'm already looking forward to next year’s race. With your help, we are hoping to help CASA make it even more successful.

I truly wish you a great rest of summer and look forward to seeing you all in September!

Loyally -

Omaha Alumnae Annual Dues

Regardless of where life takes us, the bond we share with other Thetas, the link between each of us and the Fraternity, is strong. When we think of Theta, it is important that we think not only of the past, but also of the present and the future. One way to provide for a strong Fraternity, both today and tomorrow, is for each alumna to pay annual dues to Kappa Alpha Theta.

The annual dues for Omaha Alumnae are:

Regular Membership: $25

Regular Membership if you are in the “Life Loyal” program: $10

$15 of your annual dues goes to headquarters to keep you in good standing with the Fraternity.

Life Loyal members will have already paid this.

$10 of your annual dues supports the Omaha chapter directly. (helps pay for CASA donations, Founders Day expenses, Convention costs, postage, printing…etc)

Supporting Membership: $35

Supporting Membership if you are in the “Life Loyal” Program: $20

As a Supporting Member, your additional funds will provide greater support for the Omaha chapter’s activities.

The Patron Program

The Patron Program is unique to Omaha. Each year, contributions to the Patron Program are used directly to fund a scholarship for a Theta collegiate originally from Omaha. The Patron Program has four levels of giving, but donations of any amount are always appreciated.

Super Theta $15

High Flyer: $25

Twin Star: $50

Golden Pansy: $100

Dues may be paid by sending a check made out to Kappa Alpha Theta to:

Barb Domski

16274 California

Omaha, Nebraska 68118

Please make a note in the memo line as to your desired membership level and/or patron level.
