FRESHMAN FIRST SEMESTER

SPORTS ACADEMIC PROBATION

SUPPORT PLAN

According to District policy, students receiving a GPA less than 2.0 are not eligible to play competitive sports. However, the District’s policy also allows for ninth graders to be given the opportunity to be placed on an academic support plan/probation and participate during the first semester. To be able to compete in athletics during the third quarter, students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and passing 20 units at the end of the first semester. For this reason, San Gorgonio HS has instituted the following Freshman Academic Support Plan for the first semester. Freshman with less than a 2.0 GPA or not passing 20 units will be placed into the Freshman Academic Support Plan and categorized based upon the criteria below… beginning in the first quarter with the grade check on the fourth Wednesday of August for Fall Sports… based upon the grade check on the second Wednesday in November for Winter Sports… for both Fall and Winter Sports, students must pass at least 20 units on first quarter report card in order to continue in or utilize academic support plan!!!
