Game of the Week – Maximus vs. StrongArms!
The last two undefeated A/B teams faced off in a classic showdown that did not disappoint the massive crowd filling the stands! Maximus out-dueled the tough StrongArms, besting them by the slimmest of margins, 50-49. “It was a total shootout, and we got the best of them at the end,” coach Rob Havlovick stated. “And I also want to take this opportunity to state unequivocally that I nor my brother is related to Havlichek of Celtic fame. Rob finished with a team-high 19 points.
Legend of the Week – Steve Papageorge (Precipitation)
Papageorge was on fire, scoring at will, with a total of 30 points to lead his 19+ team over the reigning (yet mightily struggling) 0-4 LittleLeaguers. “You know, I was getting sick of #34 and #35 of my team getting all the press for their mammoth dunks, and I just wanted to show off my 3-point shot,” Steve stated. “Besides, my #5 is a whole lot cooler than their numbers,” he added.
