PacifiCorp’s Currant Creek Gas-fired Power Plant Began Generation
With construction continuing, PacifiCorp’s Currant Creek natural gas-fired power plant began generating electricity this week for the first time. The current simple cycle will be converted to a 525 megawatt combined cycle later this year. Completion of construction is expected in 2006.

Capacity was reduced at Ameren’s Callaway nuclear power plant June 29 to repair one of the plant's two feedwater pumps.

Enbridge to Extend Its Gulf of Mexico Pipeline Infrastructure
Enbridge Offshore Pipelines, L.L.C., a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc., will construct and operate both a natural gas gathering lateral and a crude oil pipeline lateral to connect crude oil and natural gas from the Neptune Field. Once completed, approximately 50,000 barrels per day of oil and 200 million cubic feet per day of gas will be transported through the laterals. Production is expected at the end of 2007.

Two New LNG Terminals Approved by Federal Regulators
Exxon Mobil Corporation won approval from federal regulators to build a $600 million liquefied natural gas terminal, called the Golden Pass LNG Terminal LP, near Sabine Pass, Texas. Approval for Exxon Mobil to build an LNG terminal near Corpus Christi, Texas, was granted earlier in June. A separate proposal for a new LNG terminal in Massachusetts, called Weaver's Cove terminal, to be built by Amerada Hess Corporation was also approved.

Application Filed To Build Georgia-Florida Pipeline Project
An application has been filed with FERC by Southern Natural Gas, a pipeline subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, to build its proposed Cypress Pipeline, a project that had been mothballed for several years.
