Ad campaign tournament Project

Pick your own Teams of 2 or 3. You are going to compete against each other for the right to be crowned The Advertising Champions of Marketing I. Each group will choose one company. Once a company has been taken no one else can use it. Before we get into the competition each team needs to provide me with the following information on their company via Google Drive Presentation….

Ad Research guidelines:

a.  Cover Page

b.  Company Description (25 points)

i.  Company background & History

c.  Product & Service plan (25 points)

i.  Present the products and services that the business offers

ii. Include any unique features of the product or service

iii.  Description of the products and services the business sells

d.  Industry overview (25 points)

i.  What industry are you operating in?

ii. Is it growing? Shrinking? Stable?

iii.  Include current trends of that industry

e.  Market analysis (25 points)

i.  Who are your customers? (Target Market)

ii. Who are your competitors (direct and indirect)

Tournament guidelines: This part of the assignment does not need to be done on Google drive. If you choose to use other sources make sure everything is in order the day we start to present.

1.  A minimum of 1:30 second TV commercial. I am requiring you to use real people, props, uniforms, etc.…. No cartoons or websites to help. This will be done live in class. Do not walk into class on the day of presentations with no added props or creative elements. Figure out a way to make this creative, your grade depends on it…. persuasive technique

2.  Magazine Ad…. persuasive technique

3.  A minimum of 1 minute Radio broadcast… persuasive technique

4.  Create a Sales promotion … persuasive technique (This cannot and will not be the same exact thing as your Magazine Ad.

Tournament of Champions:

You and your group will create 4 advertisements using the persuasive techniques provided below…

Each advertisement will be a separate round, with each round being worth 10,15,20 and 25 points respectively. The tournament part of the project will be worth 70 points…Just like in a real tournament set up if you do not win you do not advance. That also means you only get points if you win and advance to the next round.

Round 1: Sales promotion (10 points)…Everyone will receive 10 points for participating but form this point on you will only receive points if your Ad is good enough to win!

Round 2: Magazine Ad (15 points)

Round 3: Radio broadcast (20 points)

Final: TV commercial (25 points)

To advance a round you must convince your classmates and I that your Ad is better than your opponent. We will grade you on a 1-5 scale. At the end of each matchup I will average in the grades and determine the winners.
