Essay Reflection: Theme Analysis

Part I. Part of getting an IB education is developing the necessary skills needed to learn. IB calls these Learner Profiles. We have talked a little about them, and will continue as the year progresses. One of the Learner Profiles is Reflective. According to IB, Reflective Learners “give thoughtful consideration to their own learning and experience.” Below are a few questions that will help you begin to become Reflective as defined by IB. Please answer each question in complete sentences.

Part II: Thinkers are another IB Learner Profile. Thinkers “exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems.” To help you become a better Thinker, complete the question below.

3. What are some ways that you could learn about the area of improvement that you chose in question 2? Try to come up with at least two plans that you can accomplish over the next week.

Part II: Now for the hard part, putting it into action! According to IB, Inquirers “show independence in learning.” In order for you to develop a little independence in you will carry out one of your plans that you developed in question 3. You will take the knowledge that you gain from this independent study and use it to improve your essay. Answer the questions below to complete this task.
