BYLAWS
ARTICLE I - NAME
THE NAME OF THIS ORGANIZATION SHALL BE THE JUNIOR AUXILIARY OF COLUMBIA, TENNESSEE,
ARTICLE II – PURPOSE AND POLICIES
SECTION 1. PURPOSE
THE PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION SHALL BE TO ENCOURAGE MEMBERS TO RENDER CHARITABLE SERVICES WHICH ARE BENEFICIAL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON CHILDREN; AND TO COOPERATE WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS PERFORMING SIMILAR SERVICES.
THIS ORGANIZATION IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL, RELIGIOUS, OR SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 501 (C) (3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE.
SECTION 2. POLICIES
THE POLICIES OF THE JUNIOR AUXILIARY OF Columbia, Tennessee, Inc.SHALL BE IN HARMONY WITH THE POLICIES OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF JUNIOR AUXILIARIES, INCORPORATED (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS NAJA).
ARTICLE III - FIELD OF SERVICE
THE FIELD OF SERVICE SHALL BE MauryCounty, Tennessee.
ARTICLE IV - MEMBERSHIP
SECTION 1. CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP
A WOMAN WHO IS AT LEAST TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE AND WORKS OR RESIDES IN MAURY COUNTY MMAY BE CONSIDERED ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP.
THE CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
- PROVISIONAL - PROVISIONAL MEMBERS ARE THOSE WHO ARE ENGAGED IN COMPLYING WITH THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP, AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO VOTE OR HOLD OFFICE. PROVISIONAL MEMBERS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO SERVE A TERM OF SIX MONTHS AND TO COMPLETE A PROVISIONAL COURSE WITHIN THIS PERIOD. ONE EXTENSION OF SIX MONTHS MAY BE GRANTED BY THE LOCAL BOARD IN THE CASE OF PROVISIONAL WHO, FOR UNAVOIDABLE REASONS, ISUNABLE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WITHIN THE REQUIRED TIME. PROVISIONAL MEMBERS SHALL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE PROVISIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN A MANNER SATISFACTORY TO THE LOCAL BOARD AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASSOCIATION PROVISIONAL TRAINING MANUAL; SHALL ATTEND AT LEAST 2/3 OF THE REGULAR MEETINGS HELD BY THE CHAPTER DURING THIS PERIOD AND SHALL PAY DUES TO THE CHAPTER AS DETERMINED BY THE EXECUTIVE BOARD. ALL HOURS ACCRUED BY A PROVISIONAL SHALL BE RECORDED AS PROVISIONAL HOURS UNDER EDUCATION. A CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP CARD SHALL BE SENT TO NAJA HEADQUARTERS WITHIN THIRTY DAYS UPON ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROVISIONAL MEMBER. THOSE MEMBERS FAILING TO MEET THE PROVISIONAL REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE DROPPED FROM MEMBERSHIP BY A TWO-THIRDS VOTE OF THE LOCAL BOARD.
- ACTIVE - ACTIVE MEMBERS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP AND HAVE BEEN ADMITTED TO ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP BY A TWO-THIRDS VOTE OF THE BOARD.
THEY SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES AND RIGHTS OF MEMBERSHIP, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO HOLD OFFICE AND TO VOTE AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CARRYING OUT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CHAPTER.
- REQUIREMENTS: TO MAINTAIN MEMBERSHIP IN GOOD STANDING, A MEMBER SHALL PAY DUES TO THE ASSOCIATION ANNUALLY, AND SHALL OBTAIN A MINIMUM OF TWENTY-FOUR SERVICE HOURS AND TWELVE EDUCATION HOURS PER YEAR.ATTEND AT LEAST SIX (6) OF THE TEN (10) MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETINGS, OBTAIN A MINIMUM OF FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS OF WORK OR ASSIGNMENTS PER YEAR OF WHICH, ONE PROVISIONAL TRAINING MEETING.FOR EDUCATION PURPOSES, CHAPTER MEETINGS SHALL COUNT ONE HOUR EACH. SIX CHAPTER MEETINGS MUST APPLY TOWARD THE ANNUAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT. OTHER EDUCATION HOURS MAY BE OBTAINED FROM ANNUAL MEETING, AREA MEETINGS, AND CHAPTER/COMMUNITY SEMINARS. FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION HOURS REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAPTER. ALL HOURS SHALL BE ACCRUED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF AND IN A MANNER SATISFACTORY TO THE LOCAL BOARD.
- PENALTIES: AN ACTIVE MEMBER FAILING TO FULFILL THE YEARLY REQUIREMENTS FORMEMBERSHIP FORFEITS THAT YEAR OF WORK ACCREDITED TOWARD ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY.
- PRIVILEGES: a.) ANY MEMBER WHO, AFTER HAVING SERVED A MINIMUM OFFIVE ACTIVE YEARS AND HAVING PAID TO THE ASSOCIATION A TOTAL AMOUNT EQUAL TO TEN ADDITIONAL YEARS OF CURRENT ASSOCIATE DUES, SHALL BE ABSOLVED FROM FURTHER FINANCIAL OBLIGATION. b.) AT THE DISCRETION OF THE LOCAL BOARD, A MEMBER MAY BE TEMPORARILY EXCUSED FROM ACTIVE SERVICE.
- ASSOCIATE - ASSOCIATE MEMBERS ARE THOSE WHO, WHILE SERVING AS ACTIVE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OF A PROVISIONAL OR ACTIVE JUNIOR AUXILIARY CHAPTER, HAVE ACCUMULATED A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS OF ACTIVE SERVICE AND WHO DESIRE TO CHANGE MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATION. THE MEMBER SHALL PAY ASSOCIATE DUES. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAPTER, AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER MAY BE ACCORDED ASSOCIATE ACTIVE STATUS.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS WISHING TO RETAIN THE RIGHT TO VOTE ON NEW MEMBERS MAY DO SO BY PERFORMING A MINIMUM OF TWENTY-FOUR HOURS OF WORK INCLUDING ATTENDING AT LEAST THREE REGULAR CHAPTER MEETINGS, WORKING A MINIMUM OF TWELVE SERVICE HOURS OF WHICH FOUR SERVICE HOURS MUST BE DEDICATED TO THE CHAPTER’S CHILD WELFARE PROJECT, AND WORKING A MINIMUM OF FOUR HOURS “THE DAY OF” THE ANNUAL FUNDRAISER. ALL ADDITIONAL HOURS NEEDED MAY BE ACQUIRED FROM EDUCATION, ADMINISTRATIVE, SERVICE OR OTHER SOURCE.
- LIFE - LIFE MEMBERS ARE THOSE WHO, AFTER HAVING ACCUMULATED A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS OF ACTIVE SERVICE, HAVE PAID TO THE ASSOCIATION A TOTAL AMOUNT EQUAL TO TEN ADDITIONAL YEARS OF CURRENT ASSOCIATION DUES. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CHAPTER, A LIFE MEMBER MAY BE ACCORDED LIFE/ACTIVE STATUS.

- SUSTAINING - SUSTAINING MEMBERS ARE THOSE PERSONS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AND UPON WHOM THE CHAPTER DESIRES TO BESTOW AN HONORARY MEMBERSHIP DUE TO OUTSTANDING SERVICE OR FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE CHAPTER.
- NON-RESIDENT - ACTIVE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING ARE ENTITLED TO NON-RESIDENT MEMBERSHIP, WHICH IS OPEN TO THOSE WHOSE RESIDENCE IS CHANGED TO THAT OF ANOTHER COMMUNITY.
IF A NON-RESIDENT MEMBER WISHES TO COMPLETE ACTIVE OBLIGATION AND ATTAIN ASSOCIATE STATUS THE MEMBER MUST:
- COMPLETE A TOTAL OF 48 HOURS PER YEAR, OF WHICH SHE WILL COMPLETE TWENTY-FOUR HOURS OF VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY SERVICE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY AND TWELVE EDUCATION HOURS PER REMAINING YEAR TO FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS;
2.PAY NON-RESIDENT DUES TO THE CHAPTER OF RECORD;
3.REPORT HOURS OF SERVICE TO CHAPTER OF RECORD.
UPON ATTAINING ASSOCIATE STATUS,THE MEMBER PAYS TO THE ASSOCIATION A TOTAL AMOUNT EQUAL TO TEN (10) YEARS OF ASSOCIATE DUES TO ATTAINLIFE STATUS.
SECTION 2. ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP
A WOMAN WHO IS AT LEAST TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE, RESIDING OR WORKING IN MAURY COUNTY, MAY BE CONSIDERED ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP.
SECTION 3. MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE
TOTAL ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP MAY NOT EXCEED SIXTY (60) OR FALL BELOW FIFTEEN (15).
MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
- AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING WILL BE HELD FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS. THE PROVISIONAL TRAINER WILL ORGANIZE AND PLAN THE INFORMATIONAL MEETING. ACTIVE MEMBERS SHALL BE GIVEN A PROVISIONAL APPLICATION IN AUGUST TO BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO THE PROVISIONAL TRAINER BY SEPTEMBER 1ST. THE PROVISIONAL TRAINER SHALL COMPILE A LIST OF PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS TO BE PRESENTED AND VOTED ON BY THE EXECUTIVE BOARD DURING THE SEPTEMBER BOARD MEETING. THE PROVISIONAL TRAINER WILL ALSO SUBMIT A SCHEDULE/PLAN OF REQUIREMENTS TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR APPROVAL BY THE SEPTEMBER BOARD MEETING. AN INFORMATION MEETING FOR THE PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS VOTED ON BY THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL BE HELD IN OCTOBER.
- PROVISIONAL TRAINING BEGINS IN NOVEMBER. THE PROVISIONAL TRAINER WILL SET THE REQUIREMENTS (A COMPILED TOTAL OF SEVEN HOURS TRAINING AND A PROVISIONAL PROJECT) FOR THE PROVISIONALS AS THEY SEE FIT FOR THAT YEAR. PROVISIONALS MUST ALSO SERVE A TERM OF SIX MONTHS BEGINNING IN NOVEMBER AND ENDING IN APRIL AND MUST ALSO PAY A PROVISIONAL FEE TO THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION. AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF HER TRAINING, THE PROVISIONAL WILL BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER MAY 1ST OF THAT CURRENT YEAR.
SECTION 4. CHANGES IN MEMBERSHIP
Application to change to another class of membership must be made in writing to the Recording Secretary. Written requests to change from Active membership status to Life, Associate, Associate/Active, or Life/Active memberships must be made no later than the March Executive Board meeting. Written request to change from Provisional membership status to Active membership must be made no later than the April Executive Board meeting. Changes to another class of membership shall become effective upon approval of the Executive Board, and members shall be notified in writing of the action of the Board.
ANY MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING WHO CHANGES RESIDENCE SHALL BE PERMITTED TRANSFER PRIVILEGES TO A CHAPTER IN THE NEW LOCALITY. THE RIGHT OF TRANSFER GRANTED IN THIS SECTION DOES NOT EXTEND TO A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN DROPPED OR WHO HAS RESIGNED FROM AUXILIARY MEMBERSHIP. PROVISIONAL MEMBERS SHALL TAKE ANY ADDITIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED BY THE CHAPTER TO WHICH THEY TRANSFER. IF THERE ARE NO VACANCIES IN THE CHAPTER TO WHICH A MEMBER IS TRANSFERRING, THE NAME OF THE MEMBER SHALL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST AND SHALL BE ACCEPTED IN ORDER OF APPLICATION.
AN ACTIVE MEMBER WHO CANNOT FULFILL HER REQUIREMENTS FOR ANY GIVEN YEAR MAY BE GRANTED A LEAVE OF ABSENCE. THE LEAVE OF ABSENCE WILL BE REQUESTED OF AND GRANTED BY THE BOARD FOR THE PERIOD NEEDED, NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR. A MEMBER WHO RESIGNS OR IS DROPPED OR DOES NOT LEAVE THE CHAPTER IN GOOD STANDING SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED AGAIN AS A MEMBER OF THE CHAPTER.
ARTICLE V - DUES AND CHARGES
ALL CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PROVISIONAL AND LIFE MEMBERS SHALL PAY ANNUAL DUES TO THE ASSOCIATION.
ACTIVE MEMBERS(INCLUDING MEMBERS ON LEAVE OF ABSENCE) AND NON-RESIDENT MEMBERS SHALL PAY $55 ANNUAL DUES. AN ADDITIONAL $15 OF LOCAL CHAPTER DUES SHALL BE PAID. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS SHALL PAY $35 DUES.
PROVISIONAL MEMBERS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR CHAPTER DUES IMMEDIATELY UPON ACCEPTANCE OF THE INVITATION TO MEMBERSHIP. ACTIVE, ASSOCIATE, AND NON-RESIDENT DUES FOR THE COMING YEAR SHALL BE PAYABLE TO THE CHAPTER NO LATER THAN APRIL 1ST. ALL DUES ARE PAYBLE TO THE ASSOCIATION UPON RECEIPT OF STATEMENT AND ARE DELINQUENT AFTER JULY15. AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER MAY, AT ANY TIME PAY THE EQUIVALENT OF TN YEARS ASSOCIATE DUES TO ATTAIN THE STATUS OF LIFE MEMBER. THIS AMOUNT MUST BE FORWARDED IMMEDIATELY TO HEADQUARTERS IN ORDER FOR THE LIFE MEMBERSHIP TO BE GRANTED.
REFUNDS OF DUES WILL NOT BE MADE TO MEMBERS RESIGNING DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE TO PROVISIONAL MEMBERS FAILING TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.
ARTICLE VI - CHAPTER MEETINGS
SECTION 1. REGULAR AND SPECIAL MEETINGS
REGULAR MEETINGS SHALL BE HELD THE FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 6:00 P.M., WITH THE EXCEPTION OF JUNE AND JULY. SUMMER MEETINGS MAY BE HELD AS NEEDED BUT WILL BE DESIGNATED AS SPECIAL MEETINGS AND WILL NOT COUNT AS REGULAR MEETINGS. IF ANY MEETING FALLS ON A HOLIDAY, IT SHALL AUTOMATICALLY BE CHANGED TO THE SECOND MONDAY OF THAT MONTH. REGULAR MEETINGS MAY BE CHANGED TO THE SECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH WITH A 2/3 VOTE OF QUALIFIED MEMBERSHIP AT THE REGULAR CHAPTER MEETING TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO THE MEETING TO BE CHANGED. FOR EDUCATION PURPOSES, CHAPTER MEETINGS SHALL COUNT ONE HOUR EACH. SIX CHAPTER MEETINGS MUST APPLY TOWARD THE ANNUAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT. CHAPTER MEETINGS HELD IN AN ELECTRONIC FORMAT ARE PROHIBITED.
SPECIAL MEETINGS SHALL BE HELD AT THE DISCRETION OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OR UPON WRITTEN REQUEST OF FIFTEEN (15) MEMBERS OF THE CHAPTER. NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETINGS WILL BE GIVEN WITHIN 5 DAYS OF MEETING DATE.
SECTION 2. QUORUM
A QUORUM SHALL CONSIST OF A 51% MMAJORITY OF THE VOTING MEMBERS.
SECTION 3. VOTING
ABSENTEE BALLOTS AND PROXY VOTING ARE PROHIBITED.
ARTICLE VII - OFFICERS
THE CHAPTER OFFICERS ARE THE PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, RECORDING SECRETARY,TREASURER AND ASSISTANT TREASURER.
SECTION 1. NOMINATION AND ELECTION
The Nominating Committee shall present a slate of one candidate for each office to be filled.
Officers shall be elected by ballot no later than the March meeting of the Chapter for a term of one year or until their successors are elected.
OFFICERS ASSUME DUTIES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FISCAL YEAR, MAY 1.
SECTION 2. DUTIES
THE PRESIDENT IS THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE CHAPTER; PRESIDES AT ALL CHAPTER AND EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING AND IS AN EX-OFFICIO MEMBER TO ALL COMMITTEES EXCEPT THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE. THE PRESIDENT APPOINTS ALL COMMITTEES, INCLUDING THE CHAIRMEN, UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED.
THE VICE-PRESIDENT ASSUMES THE DUTIES OF THE PRESIDENT IN THE ABSENCE OF THE PRESIDENT. THE VICE-PRESIDENT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SLATED IN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT THE FOLLOWING FISCAL YEAR.
THE RECORDING SECRETARY KEEPS THE MINUTES AND THE ROLL OF THE MEETINGS OF THE CHAPTER AND THE EXECUTIVE BOARD;KEEPS A CORRECT, CLASSIFIED LIST OF THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF ALL MEMBERS AND MAINTAINS A FILE OF ESSENTIAL RECORDS ON EACH MEMBER.THESE FILES ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE SUCCESSOR AT THE CLOSE OF THE TERM OF OFFICE. The Recording Secretary shall complete and send all meeting minutes to the Chapter MEMBERS INCLUDING ALL LIFE AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERS NO LATER THAN TEN DAYS AFTER THE MEETING. THE RECORDING SECRETARY SHOULD USE EMAIL TO DELIVER MINUTES UNLESS NOT AVAILABLE THEN SHE MUST USE THE USPS. SHE WILL ENSURE THAT THE CHAPTER HAS THE CORRECT ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS, AND EMAIL ADDRESS OF ALL MEMBERS INCLUDING LIFE/ASSOCIATE MEMBERS.
THE CORRESPONDING SECRETARY ANSWERS AND KEEPS ON FILE ALL CORRESPONDENCE RELATING TO THE CHAPTER. THE CORRESPONDING SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WRITING ALL THANK YOU NOTES, CONGRATULATION NOTES, LETTERS OF APPRECIATION AND SYMPATHY, MEMOS AND ALL REQUIRED CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE CHAPTER AND COMMUNITY.
THE TREASURER AND ASSISTANT TREASURER IS (ARE) CUSTODIAN(s) OF CHAPTER FUNDS; COLLECT ALL DUES AND ASSESSMENTS AND RECEIVE MONIES; KEEP FULL AND ACCURATE ACCOUNTS AND PRESENT FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AT THE REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CHAPTER AND THE BOARD; PRESENT AN ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BALANCE SHEET AT A CHAPTER MEETING AND TRANSFER TO SUCCESSORS ALL BOOKS AND FINANCIAL RECORDS. THE TREASURER AND ASSISTANT TREASURER IS (ARE)FILING ONLINE THE STATEMENT OF CASH BALANCES BY MAY 15, FOR PROMPT PAYMENT OF ALL DUES AND FEES TO NAJA HEADQUARTERS BY JULY 15, AND FOR SENDING A COPY OF FORM 990 OR 990-N FILED WITH INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE TO HEADQUARTERS BY OCTOBER 15 OF EACH YEAR.
THE ASSISTANT TREASURER WILL SERVE IN A MENTORING POSITION TO THE TREASURER FOR A PERIOD OF ONE FISCAL YEAR. THE TREASURER WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SLATED IN THE OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT TREASURER THE FOLLOWING FISCAL YEAR.
THE EX-OFFICIO IS THE IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT OF THE CHAPTER. THE EX-OFFICIO WILL SERVE AS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE IN A NON-VOTING CAPACITY AND SHALL BE THE LIAISON BETWEEN THE ACTIVE AND LIFE/ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. THE EX-OFFICIO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLETING A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER TO SEND TO ALL LIFE/ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. THE NEWSLETTER MUST INCLUDE PROJECTS AND OTHER IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES OF THE CHAPTER. THE EX-OFFICIO MUST SUBMIT THE NEWSLETTER TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR APPROVAL AND SUGGESTIONS. THE NEWSLETTER SHOULD BE SENT DURING MAY, AUGUST, NOVEMBER, AND FEBRUARY. THE EX-OFFICIO WILL ALSO ORGANIZE AND SEND CHRISTMAS CARDS TO ALL LIFE/ASSOCIATE MEMBERS. THE EX-OFFICIO WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING AND SCHEDULING LIFE/ASSOCIATE MEMBERS FOR ALL FUNDRAISERS AND OTHER EVENTS WHEN ADDITIONAL HELP MAY BE NEEDED. THE EX-OFFICIO WILL ALSO BECOME THE CO-CHAIR OF THE PROVISIONAL AND THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE.
ARTICLE VIII - EXECUTIVE BOARD
SECTION 1. COMPOSITION AND DUTIES
THE EXECUTIVE BOARD SHALL BEIS COMPOSED OF THE OFFICERS AND THE CHAIRMEN OF COMMITTEES INVOLVING ADMINISTRATIVE OR PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY. THE EXECUTIVE BOARD CONSISTS OF EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED, CHAIRMEN ARE APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT. THE TERM OF OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMEN IS ONE YEAR. ALL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS AGREE TO ATTEND THE SCHEDULED MONTHLY MEETINGS. IF A BOARD MEMBER IS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE BOARD MEETING, THE MEMBER MUST CONTACT THE PRESIDENT TO SUBMIT AN OFFICIAL REPORT AND TO NOTIFY THE PRESIDENT OF HER ABSENCE.
THE EXECUTIVE BOARD HAS GENERAL CHARGE AND CONTROL OF BUSINESS AND PROPERTY OF THE CHAPTER. IT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MONTHLY EXAMINATION OF THE STATEMENTS OF ALL CHAPTER BANK ACCOUNTS.
IT PRESENTS TO THE MEMBERSHIP ALL PROPOSED MAJOR PROGRAM ACTIVITIES FOR RATIFICATION.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE OFFICE OF VICE-PRESIDENT BECOMES VACANT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL ELECT A NEW VICE-PRESIDENT.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE OFFICE OF RECORDING SECRETARY BECOMES VACANT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL ELECT A NEW RECORDING SECRETARY.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE OFFICE OF CORRESPONDING SECRETARY BECOMES VACANT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL ELECT A NEW CORRESPONDING SECRETARY.
IN THE EVENT THE OFFICE OF TREASURER BECOMES VACANT DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL ELECT A NEW TREASURER.
