Introduction:
MyMathLab Algebra I is a complete online course. It includes an interactive eText, course management tools, and personalized instruction and practice for students
Course Objective:
This is a comprehensive course centered on families of functions, especially linear and quadratic functions. Students learn fundamental concepts such as linear equations; how to add, subtract, multiply and divide monomials and polynomials; factoring of polynomials and solving of quadratic equations. This course also includes radicals and exponents.
Materials needed:
Please note that a reliable internet connection is mandatory for this course as many of the assignments are time sensitive.
· 1 notebook (Composition or wired, no loose leaf paper)
· Graph paper
· Scientific calculator
· Pens, pencils, ruler, highlighter
· Folder (distributed worksheets will be kept here)

Grading Policy:
Grades will be based on three parts as follows:
Homework: 35%
Tests: 30%
Quizzes: 20%
Projects: 10%
Effort and behavior: 5%
Please note:
· Tests and quizzes will be taken online on MyMathLab. Grades will be transferred to JupiterGrades at the end of the term.
Homework Policy:
· Homework will be assigned at the end of every section covered.
· It is imperative that it is completed before the next meeting.
· Late homework will NOT be credited. After the due date, the homework will be discussed in class.
· If a day is missed, it will be the student's responsibility to find out about assignments, and catch up with any missed material
Behavior and Conduct:
· Will account for 5% of the total grade.
· The school rules will be strictly enforced. Refer to handbook for details.
· I strongly emphasize that plagiarism will not be tolerated. Incidents of academic dishonesty will be reported to the administration.
