Call for Volunteers

The Regional Youth Circuit Coordinator position is a volunteer position requiring an initial commitment of a single season (July through the following July), renewable on an annual basis.

The RYCC will work with both the USFA Youth Development Task Force and Youth Development Manager. US Fencing’s Youth Development Manager, Courtney Winninger, will act as a resource for all RYCC’s. The Youth Development Manager will coordinate scheduling in all regions and act as an information and directional clearinghouse for all youth development activities in regions throughout the US.

Qualifications for the Regional Youth Circuit Coordinator:

·  Current USFA member in good standing with the USFA.

·  Motivated self-starter with clear and open communication skills.

·  Humorous and playful with ability to set clear goals and follow through with flexible and creative problem solving tools.

·  Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.

·  Commitment to the growth of youth fencing in the US.

·  Knowledge of youth fencing and competition organizers in the Region.

§  Experience with youth sports, preferably youth fencing.

§  Love of youth sports and their participants.

Responsibilities of the Regional Youth Circuit Coordinator:

·  Select the organizers in the region for RYC’s, camps and seminars for the season.

·  Provide the YDM with a written schedule of all the RYC’s to be held in the region by the date requested by the YDM

·  Provide the YDM with the complete results of every RYC within two (2) weeks of their completion.

·  Attend RYC’s in region when feasible or select a designate

·  Submit a written analysis of youth fencing in the region to the YDC before the end of a season so as to improve the experience for the following season.

·  Act as US Fencing’s “point of contact” in the region for all youth development activities.
