Outcomes of the Meeting:
The Panel recommends to the Academic Board of Plymouth University that …. be approved subject to the satisfactory completion of the conditions set out in the report below.
In recommending the proposal be approved, the Panel was confident that the requirements of the FHEQ had been appropriately considered. Programme learning outcomes were confirmed as being aligned with the relevant qualification descriptors; account had been taken of the QAA qualification characteristics and subject benchmarks; and that the programme proposal met the University’s requirements in relation to academic frameworks and regulations for the award of credit. As such the Panel concluded that students who successfully achieve the learning outcomes of the programme would have met University academic and UK threshold standards.
Confirmation is also given that the range and type of assessment are appropriate to the programme aims and learning outcomes; assessment policies, regulations and processes are transparent and assessment methods are inclusive.

EXAMPLE
Condition 3: / To clarify the progression arrangements to BA (Hons) Business Enterprise.
It was noted that there was progression to the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise top-up at the College. It had received students from the existing hospitality and tourism programmes over the years and good results had been achieved. It was noted that a request needed to go to the University’s ADC to retain the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise top-up as it had been subject to rationalisation in the business area.

Condition 6:
EXAMPLE
Recommendation 1: / To reconsider the modes of assessment across the programme to make it more interesting and innovative.
The word count across the modules was 2000-4000. The Panel asked if the assessment loading was a problem for staff or students. The Team explained that it varied across the modules depending on the type of assessment e.g. case study or report. It was noted that higher word counts applied for group work.
