Chemistry:

We are in the middle of our stoichiometry unit. This is one of our most difficult for the year so it is extremely helpful if students review their notes each night, do the homework problems, etc. Tomorrow (Friday 23rd) is Mid-quarter already!

Physics:

Science Circus is coming up quickly! It will be Friday March 16 (6-9 pm) and Saturday March 17 (11 am-3pm). Students are working in groups to create a project for circus.

Students are working hard building structures that will prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from a height of 2.0 meters. Next, we will be going over electricity and magnetism.

Carroll College invites all juniors and seniors to Helena Hospitality Night on February 24 at Carroll PE Center for the Women’s and Men’s basketball game. This event includes two free tickets for both the women’s and men’s games at 5:30 and 7:30, as well as free food and a separate room for high school students between games. Carroll College will also have a drawing for a bookstore gift card for both the Juniors and the Seniors. Come by for a night of thrills as the Saints take to the hardwood

Interested in a career in engineering or computer science? MSU College of Engineering would like to invite students who excel in problem solving, math and science to the National Engineers Week events. They will be hosting two events: The 15th Annual "Women in Engineering Dinner" Friday February 23rd from 5:30-8pm and Shadow a College of EngineeringStudentFebruary 26thfrom7:30am-2:00pm. All events are free but you must RSVP to assure they have sufficient food and to provide an appropriate student match for those participating in Shadow a College of Engineering Student. No time to go to the cafeteria before class? Well, now from 7:45 to 8:30 every morning you can stop by the GRAB'N'GO breakfast cart at the main entrance for a quick breakfast to go. Pick one of our two choices -- it goes on your regular meal account, just like lunch.

The Montana Key Club District Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kiwanis Foundation of Montana, is designed to provide recognition and financial assistance to Key club members who have excelled in their high school careers. It is designed for Key Club members who have achieved academic excellence, demonstrated leadership abilities, and provided service to others. Financial need is not a factor in this award. Please come to the counseling office for more information.

Interested in a health care career? Check out theMedStartSummer Program! TheMedStartSummer Camp that is a 5-day summer program sponsored by the Montana Area Health Education Center. The program encourages sophomore and junior high school students to pursue their interest in a variety of health care careers. The goal is to provide students with the support and resources needed to enter and succeed in the healthcare industry. Applications for the program must be postmarked by March 9th. For more information and to pick up an application please stop by the counselingcenter. There are also scholarships available for low income families to help off-set the cost of the camp.

MSU Fridays will be held on the MSU campus on March 9th, March 23rd and June 15th. These visits will offer opportunities for students and family members to explore the campus in a fun, informal setting.
