In continuation of the April auction, we able to sell, as the first 70 lots, a second part of the archive of JAC Harrison (1872-1955), one of the foremost engravers on steel and copper of stamps and bookplates. A rare opportunity to acquire very attractive material in mint condition (unless described otherwise below). The ‘H’ numbers below refer to Brian North Lee’s checklist (this 1983 book is still available from the Society at £18 plus postage). Please refer to it for fuller details and biographies of owners. Measurements are of the engraved area, height by width in mm. Reserves on this Harrison material vary, but assume at least £1 per 10cm2 of image area or 80% of pre-sale estimate.
