Thank you for considering the position of the Assistant to the Executive Board. Being the Assistant means helping the voices of the students at Edmonds Community College be heard. With mentorship from senior college administrators, this job will help you mature the skills you already have and develop ones you need to work in a professional environment. You will also get to interact with the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership, a group of positive individuals engaged in the community. Working at the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership will give you invaluable experiences and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on student lives.

Assistant to the Executive Board Position Requirements
The student government Assistant to the Executive Board position requires that you meet and maintain certain requirements including being able to commit to the training dates and times listed below.
Term of office: October 16th, 2017 – June 16th, 2018
Requirements at Time of Application
For your application to be considered you must meet the following requirements:
➢Must be enrolled in at least 6 EdCC credits at the time of application.
➢Must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA or equivalent from EdCC or from the most recent institution attended.
Requirements When Work Begins
To begin as an Assistant to the Executive Board, you must meet the following requirements:
➢Registered for fall quarter
➢Be available for Executive Board Work Sessions and Regular meetings every week.
➢Must be eligible to work (i.e., have social security number, pass background check)
➢Have a signed Assistant to the Executive Board expectations agreement on file
➢Resident students must be continuously enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits fall, winter and spring quarters.(International students for a minimum of 12 credits)
➢Be continuously enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits fall, winter and spring quarters
➢Complete a minimum of 6 credits each quarter enrolled with a minimum 2.5 GPA
Academic Year Schedule: Be able to serve and work up to 16 hours each week.
Fall quarter: September 18 – December 8, 2017
Winter quarter: January 3 - March 17, 2018
Spring quarter: April 3 – June 16, 2018
Pay: $11 per hour.

➢One letter of recommendation from a different person who fills out your Assistant to the Executive Board Skills Evaluation form (instructor or supervisor) (Optional).
➢An unofficial EdCC transcript and current class schedule. If EdCC is not the most recent institution attended, you may submit a transcript from your most recent institution attended.
➢Any other material that you believe supports your candidacy for an Assistant to the Executive Board position.

Assistant to the Executive Board Position Description
Function
The Assistant to the Student Governmentis responsible to provide program and administrative support to the Executive Board.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent writing skills including spelling and grammar
- Be proficient in speaking English
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Above average ability to work with Microsoft Word
- Excellent note taking and/or transcribing skills
- Have a flexible schedule
- Be able to multi task
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA and a minimum of 6 credits per quarter
- Be available up to 16 hours per week
- Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphic design programs, and Google Apps
Duties
1.Attend all official Executive Board meetings and others meetings as assigned
Ex: Technology Investment Management Committee (TIMC) and S&A Fee Committee
2.Maintain electronic files of ASEdCC documents
3.Maintain hard-copy files as appropriate and as assigned by the Director for Student Programs
4.Produce accurate agendas and minutes in a timely manner
5.Manage all Executive Board office supplies
6.Coordinate scheduling of meeting spaces and meeting arrangements for Executive Board Meetings & Work Sessions
7.Check office voicemail regularly
8.Keep office area clean and professional looking
9.Manage Executive Board display area
10.Manage textbook bulletin board
11.Help Promote & market the ASEdCC Executive Board
12.Other Duties as assigned
