**Please be sure to mark all clothing and personal items with the person’s last name and sport (FIGURE for figure skating and SPEED for speed skating). This includes items such as cameras, books, as well as his/her toothbrush.**

Carry-on bag (please check with airline restrictions on size; backpack is usually fine)

  Medicine: All medicine should be packed in bag athletes are carrying on plane. Please place in zip lock bag with clear instructions on taking medicine. Also, feel free to include any other concerns we should be made aware of regarding medication.

  Refillable water bottle

Equipment/Skate bag (if applicable; may also pack in carry-on if have room AND is allowed by airline)

  Skates (figure for Figure Skaters, hockey or speed for speed skaters)

  Skate guards and/or soakers

  Program music (freestyle and dance if athlete competing in dance) on CD clearly marked with athlete’s name and number of tracks. May also bring on MP3 or MP4 version on iPod or other medium.

  Towel to dry skates

  Screw Driver to fit the screws in the bottom of your blade (this must be checked through in your luggage as you will not be permitted to carry this on the airplane).

Speed Skating Sport Specific Competition Items

  Speed skating helmet

  Knee pads

  Wrist guards and neck guard

  Speed skating skin suit

  Thermal underwear or "wicking" undergarments for warmth to wear under skinsuit

  Full-zip pants to wear while wearing skates

  Speed skating gloves (leather batting gloves or XC ski gloves)

Clothing

  (5) pair underwear (or enough for at least 5 days – we will not do laundry so bring extra)

  (2) pairs casual pants (for dance and social outings)

  (1) pair gym shorts

  (2) long sleeve shirts or turtlenecks

  (2) short-sleeve shirts

  (2) sweatshirt or fleece for layering

  (1) pair tennis shoes for cross training

  (1) pair casual shoes for travel

  Heavy jacket (we suggest you wear/carry this on the plane)
