Target Audience
This program has been designed for medical practitioners in infectious diseases, diabetes, genomics, obstetrics and gynecology, nephrology, community health and prevention, oncology, critical care, pulmonary medicine, health care rationing, molecular genetics, cancer epidemiology, prevention and control.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the application of epidemiologic approaches in settings other than one’s own clinical and/or research findings
- Identify new approaches for research
- Critically evaluate new research findings
- Identify new data sources for epidemiologic studies
- Present an aspect of research at a level appropriate for an audience knowledgeable about research in clinical epidemiology
- Discuss methodology in adequate detail so that the audience can consider how research apply to their own medical specialty
- Present and encourage discussion of problems and potential solutions that have come up in research so that the audience can learn from experience and/or contribute to advancing their own research
