December 15,1997: Bob Moore and Dick Kemper discussed the letter to be send to those identified as being interested in the formation of a state association

January 14,1998: Letter send to those who had shown an interest in forming a State Athletic Association for Independent Schools: The letter contained the following proposals::

Contained:

·  two options for the name of the Association: A Mission Statement;

·  Mission Statement for discussion

·  Proposal structure for representation

·  Classifications( Division 1: enrollment under 100; Division 3: 101-200); Division 3: enrollment over 201)

·  Executive Committee formation

·  Meetings

·  Duties of the Executive Committee

·  Committees of the association

·  Revenue

Februray 4, 1998; Inaugural State Organization meeting (snow across the state limited attendance)

·  Those in attendance broke into small groups to study the proposed name; Mission statement and structure of the Association.

·  Committee assignments: Kemper to work on the formation of the Executive Committee

·  Establish a Competition Committee of those individuals runs existing state championship events. Appoint a chair for this committee (Randy Davis, Nansemond-Suffolk)

·  Membership dues and exceptions were raised but not discussed at length.

·  Next meeting date established- April 22, 1998

February 5, 1998: Letter sent to Randy Davis asking him to be the Chairman of the Competition Committee.

February 10, 1998: A survey was developed by Bob Moore and Dick Kemper and sent to the Independent Schools to be returned by March 2, 1998.Along with the survey was the meeting minutes of the February 4th meeting and proposed framework for a state association.

April 22, 1998: Second meeting of the VISAA

January 17, 1999: The Articles for Incorporation and BY-Laws for the VISAA were drafted by David C. Owens of the Law Officers of Sands Anderson Marks and Miller

September, 1999: Articles of Incorporation were submitted

October 1999: Certificates of Incorporation received

November 1999: Meeting with an agenda to discuss Mission of Association; Articles of Incorporation; Membership and Governance; State dues structure (based on yearly dues for state championship events); Office Expenses; Identify Regional representatives; Time line for the rest of 1999-2000

August 9, 2001: A bank account for the VISAA was open with the Bank of Richmond, N.A. ; Patterson Avenue Branch; P.O. box 18428; Richmond, VA. 23226.

August 16, 2001: The first membership letter for the formation of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association was send

August 17, 2001: Statement of change of registered Officer/Registered Agent from John Conrad, Sands Anderson ETL to Richard H. Kemper, Jr. sent to State Corporation Commission

October 1, 2001: Signed an Accounting and Financial Service Agreement with Commonwealth Accounting Services
