Christine Catanzarite - “OLLI”
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is part of a national network that recognizes learning has no age limits. Through a rich array of lifelong learning opportunities, members are inspired to take a fresh look at themselves, their world, and the possibilities that await them. Christine Catanzarite is Director of OLLI.
Announcements
January 15: New Member Social 5:00 Destihl Restaurant, Champaign. Everyone invited. New members have a drink on us. All Club Members have appetizers on us.
February 16: Rotary Leadership Institute at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the last session is over at 3:15. RLI is a series of fast-paced, interactive, one-day courses offered to refine a Rotarian’s leadership skills and increase the base of knowledge in Rotary. We encourage all Rotarians, but especially new Rotarians and up and coming leaders to attend RLI. Please register online at http://www.hoa-rli.org by February 7th.
February 20: 108th Rotary Anniversary Combined Meeting
March 24 - 28: Host Families needed for GSETeam from Italy Contact John Rector, Rotary Club of Champaign West, if you have an extra bedroom.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing: Record Year Rotary Club of Champaign donated over $12,000 and rang bells to raise an additional $18,600, for a total of over $30,000.

January Cup Recipient: Family Advocacy of Champaign County
Their mission is to empower families through advocacy to understand their role and responsibilities in the child welfare system; to engage families in active participation in service interventions so families can obtain the necessary skills to build stronger families; to provide families with assistance on how to navigate through the child welfare system and empower them to become the driving force in their case. It is their belief with this power shift, families will be respected as the change agent on their case and ultimately the change agents in their lives.
