A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. and Our Grand East Masonic Temple.
WHEREAS, the Masons are the largest and oldest fraternity worldwide, whose recorded history dates back nearly 1,000 years, and whose fellowship was founded on friendship, charity, brotherly love, and benevolence; and
WHEREAS, many of our founding fathers were Masons, including such notable statesmen as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Henry Clay -- men who were instrumental in the establishment and development of our great nation; and
WHEREAS, most of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were Masons, and the significance of their allegiance to this great nation is unparalleled and will have lasting impact; and
WHEREAS, the Masons are noted for being great arbitrators and for their unbounded loyalty to God, to their country, and to their fellowman, and their humanitarian contributions have given them global distinction; and
WHEREAS, the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. was organized in 1866, and Our Grand East Masonic Temple is located in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. is an organization involved in community affairs, and focuses on the youth groups within the organization, the community at risk kids, the senior citizens and distressed members within the organization, the sponsorship of the summer free lunch program, and tutoring for children in the community; and
WHEREAS, the current Most Worthy Grand Master for the Masons is Pink J. Garner, and the current Most Worthy Grand Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star is Frances Wall;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby recognize and applaud the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc., and Pink J. Garner as the current Most Worthy Grand Master, and Frances Wall as the current Grand Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star, for their loyalty to God and to country, and for their many contributions to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We wish the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. and Our Grand East Masonic Temple success in all future endeavors.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. and Our Grand East Masonic Temple, along with Most Worthy Grand Master Pink J. Garner and Frances Wall as Grand Worthy Matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Gerald Neal for presentation to the members of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F&AM of Kentucky Inc. and Our Grand East Masonic Temple.
