COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER

Day to day responsibility to:Manager, Heart Care
Responsible for:Volunteers
Aim:To organise and run fund-raising events throughout the year, to promote the organisation, and undertake appropriate funding applications, ensuring budgets and targets are met. To support and facilitate the development of fundraising groups and volunteers across the local area.
Duties to includes:
- Organisation of fund-raising events for Walsall and Sutton Units with the support of voluntary help, maximising income generated from existing events and developing and growing new events – e.g. street/store collections, raffles, tree of life
- Develop and co-ordinate web-based fundraising
- Recruiting and supervising or assisting with recruitment and supervision of volunteers
- Motivate existing and new volunteers through the provision of appropriate information and support to promote a positive image.
- Recruiting, setting up and developing fundraising groups
- Support third party community events and organisers by promoting excellent donor care
- Working with Heart Care staff to obtain support an involvement with fundraising activities
- Liaise with press and radio to publicise all events to ensure all activities gain maximum positive exposure through the media, producing supporting materials such as posters, websites and newsletters
- Raising awareness throughout the Community of the Charity’s work – strategically target community groups that support charities on an annual basis
- Liaise with appropriate agencies e.g. Local Council
- Responsible for the purchase of Charity merchandise and to maintain accurate stock control records
- Liaise with Heart Care Manager in regard to sponsorship and donations from Trusts, Companies, Agencies and Voluntary organisations
- Presentations to schools, Rotary clubs whereby developing relationships and recruiting supporters in order to gain new support.
- Attending cheque presentations
- Responding to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc. (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc.
- Plan and manage time cost effectively, focussing efforts on activity which maximises the potential for new and existing income in the area
- Ensure feasibility, planning and evaluation of all fundraising projects
- Work with Manager on risk assessment ensuring that the Charity is adequately covered in all areas of potential risk
- To ensure that full and accurate up-to-date records are maintained in regard to general income and expenditure
- To monitor expenditure levels within an agreed Special Projects budget
- To produce annual plan to meet the agreed income targets and to produce quarterly progress reports and an annual report to be submitted to the Trustees accordingly
- Participate in meetings as appropriate
- Clerical – typing reports/letters as necessary, dealing with fundraising post, filing, keeping relevant data bases
General
