  1. The Chairman Mr MY welcomed everyone to the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were presented and agreed.
  2. Practice Changes: Dr Cynthia Rowbury sends her regards and she has totally retired from the NHS. LB explained that there had been a number of changes at the practice; Dr Rimi Mukherjee left at the end of December to work with her sister. We are about to lose Dr Serena Leader at the end of February for family reasons, and also Dr Natalie Woodward who will be leaving at the end of March to emigrate. We wish them well and they will be missed.
  3. Good news – We are delighted to welcome back Dr Jasmin Kapoor who has now become a partner. Dr Kapoor will be working 4 days per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  4. A new doctor will be joining our practice at the beginning of April and her name is Dr Luisa Pettigrew. Dr Pettigrew will be working all day on Friday.
  5. Dr Rosenfelder will remain and may increase her sessions.
  6. LB advised the group that the practice aims to have partners and not locums.
  7. We have been short of staff as our practice nurse is on sick leave at the moment and we will be covering some of her sessions with another nurse. Your patience is greatly appreciated at this time.
  8. We are unable to increase phlebotomy sessions as we do not receive funding. Mrs Dordi will remain to do one session on Monday mornings. Otherwise patients may attend the Royal Free Hospital or Finchley Memorial Hospital.
  9. Mr PP asked if LB felt the service had deteriorated. LB replied we have outstanding young doctors who have energy and commitment. However, general practice is under pressure.
  10. MY suggested meeting with the PPG for PHGH doctors: LB advised that a meeting with the PPG may be arranged however, our PPG my not be able to meet landladies or the doctors of the other practice; but might be able to meet the chair of the PHGH PPG group. LB added that many PPGs meet nationally or at the local level such as Health Watch Barnet group. CB to action with PHGH.
  11. MY suggested a zone for the mobile telephone users outside the front door. This was thought bit problematic due to the electronic doors. CB to ask PHGH doctors.
  12. It was suggested that there was a confidentiality problem in reception due to the open plan. It was suggested that perhaps there could be some kind of sound proofing structure.
  13. A ticket system was suggested instead of the JX board and doctors calling patients. However it was agreed that it was too impersonal.
  14. MY said the SMS text messaging was working well. LB reminded the group to phone in after one week for blood results. For other results such as X-rays and other scans it may take longer to receive the results, however, do phone in to check after a week or two. Instructions about phoning in are on the patient leaflets and JX board.
  15. There were complaints about how long to wait for the phone to be answered. It

was suggested to have more apts online.

3.6MR PP opened up the conversation with the topic of the state of the NHS. LB said the doctors were working to overcome the problems with admin such as chasing up letters that are sent back to be re-referred. Hospitals were dumping work on primary care. Mr MD added that FMH/RFH was dealing with 25000 blood tests per month.MR K said the admin needed to be sorted out and tightened up. LB mentioned that the referral management service was overwhelmed as they also had directives to reduce access. It was suggested to write as a collective to raise concerns with Mike Freer MP.

3.7HG asked how many DNA’s per month. From January to March 2017 there were 288 DNA’s 4%. (96 per month). MH said that text messages had been sent out for the child imms nasal spray sessions and there was only a 28% response from parents/guardians.
