The Kart rules for the Tulsa RV Ranch will be the same rules and Shawnee. We believe Clint and Outlaw Motorsports are doing a great job with their series and do not want people to have to change their setups to race with us.

2014-2015 Kart Rules

250cc Outlaw class

(250cc 2-Stroke)

Single cylinder, two-cycle, single carburetor motorcycle dirt bike or Quad engine not to exceed 265cc displacement. Stock OEM Stroke.

No slipper clutches.

Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 420 pounds.

Age 13 and up, younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with track promoter for the final decision, based on experience and ability.

Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer reading of 50 or above

(250F 4-Stroke)1. No overbore, some manufacturers have different cylinders A,B,C etc. As long as it falls within the parameters of OEM specs you are ok. 2. Stock stroke 3. No slipper clutches 4. Carb. or fuel injected is legal, single carb only. No porting, no welding of ports, no port angle changes, etc. 6. No lightening of flywheels 7. Gas only, race gas -ok no additives 8. Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue, (protruding outside of nerf bars etc.) 9. Weight with driver shall be a minimum of 420 pounds. 10. Age 13 and up. Younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with the track promoter making final decision, based on experience and ability.

Open 500cc Outlaw class

Age 15 and up, younger drivers may petition to enter the class. It will be on an individual basis, with the track promoter making the final decision, based on experience and ability.

Flat karts

This class will follow the Most CURRENT AKRA Box Stock (BS) Engine rules with the

following EXCEPTIONS listed below. In the event the AKRA rules conflict with Shawnee Expo rules, the track promoter will resolve the conflict. Their decision is final. If your clone engine is legal to compete with American Kart Racing Association (AKRA) classes you will be legal to race at the Shawnee Expo.

General Kart Rules & Safety Equipment for ALL KART

CLASSES

Frames

1. Any production/purpose built racing chassis. Motor must be mounted beside driver.

2. Frames must be constructed of metal. No aluminum or conduit tubing.

3. All karts will be outfitted with Roll cage. Roll cage must be a minimum four-point either bolted or welded to frame. does not apply to flat karts

4. Minimum of 3" head clearance to roll cage.

5. Minimum four-point seat belts bolted to frame or roll cage.

6. Front and rear bumpers are required. Bumpers must be of tubular design. No flat style allowed. Maximum width of rear bumper may be no wider than tire sidewall to sidewall width. Maximum width of front bumper may be no wider than frame rails. Lowest rail of Bumpers may be no higher than 4" from ground.

7. Nerf bars are required. Nerf bars may not protrude past tire sidewall.

8. All karts must have adequate protection over driver’s feet.

9. Wings on roof or front allowed. Top wing sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart No sharp edges.

10. All karts must run chain guard – no exceptions.

Weights

1. All weights added to kart, must be bolted to point of attachment with adequate fastener.

2. All weights must be painted white, so they can be seen if they fall from kart

onto track during race.

3. All weights should have kart number on them for identification.

DRIVERS

1. All drivers must wear a DOT approved, Full Face safety helmet with complete eye protection.

2. All drivers are required to wear long sleeves and long pants. A drivers suit is highly recommended but not required for pump gasoline. Drivers suit is required for alcohol fuel.

3. All drivers will wear an approved neck brace and arm restraints with no loose ends or they will NOT race.

4. Gloves are highly recommended.

Younger drivers may petition to enter a class. It will be on

an individual basis, with track promoter making the final

decision, based on experience and ability.

Tires & Wheels Any 5" or 6" diameter steel or aluminum wheels.

Brakes

Mechanical or Hydraulic disc is recommended. No scrubber style brakes. Must stop kart in a safe distance.
