A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE A. DAVID MASTERS OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, CPA, CEOPARTNER OF DERRICK, STUBBS & STITH, L.L.P., ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, since 1976, Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, L.L.P., has enjoyed the benefit of the dedication, experience, and leadership of A. David Masters of Lexington County, CPA and CEOpartner of the firm, who will retire on June 30, 2015, after nearly four decades of distinguished service to the company; and

Whereas, in preparation for his career and after his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, this Vietnam veteran earned his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1976 and obtained his CPA certification in 1978; and

Whereas, a native of Charleston County, Dave Masters has more than thirtynine years of public accounting experience with Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, L.L.P. He supervises accountants on audits of commercial clients, governmental agencies, and other notforprofit organizations from initial planning to completion and assists with tax planning and consulting services. His responsibilities also have included the role of chief executive officer and overall management of the firm; and

Whereas, believing strongly in active involvement in his profession and community, Mr. Masters is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Rotary Club of Five PointsColumbia (past president), Fordham Homeowners AssociationPawley’s Island (president), and Columbia Country Club of South Carolina (past treasurer and board member); and

Whereas, Dave Masters finds strength for his labors in the strong support of his family: his wife of fortyfive years, Karen M. Masters; their daughters, Christine Masters Barrett and Michelle Masters Downie; their sonsinlaw, Lee Barrett and Josh Downie; and their five delightful grandchildren; and

Whereas, the General Assembly, grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence Dave Masters has bestowed on the people of South Carolina, takes great pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement and trusts he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate A. David Masters of Lexington County, CPA, CEOPartner of Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, L.L.P., on the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his many years of dedicated service, and wish him much success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to A. David Masters.
