Dalberg Summer Associate Position

Responsibilities:
Consultant Responsibilities
o Propose problem-solving frameworks to address key client challenges
o Initiate critical and creative thinking on strategic issues facing our clients
o Lead research and complex analysis on key development-related topics
o Contribute to developing our partnerships with clients and peer organizations
o Develop and deliver structured communication to clients
o Actively contribute towards Dalberg's firm-building initiatives
o Drive the delivery of innovative and results-oriented solutions for Dalberg's clients
Timing & Other Requirements
Travel may be required (varies by office and project, expected 15%)
Expected start date of June 2010.
Qualifications:
Profile
o Masters in Business Administration or Masters in Public Administration / Policy or Ph.D from a top university
o Excellent academic record
o Minimum 2 years experience as a 'top performer' in a leading international management consultancy, pre-graduate school
o Strong analytical abilities (both quantitative and qualitative)
o Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both in writing and orally
o Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and perform well in a start-up atmosphere
o Has a passion for international development, typically evidenced by a strong interest and prior exposure to global issues such as economic development, global health, education or the environment
o Experience living and working in different cultures (time spent in developing countries strongly preferred)
o Professionalism and demonstrated experience working with senior officials in the public and/or private sector
o Sensitivity to the political and cultural environments of international public agencies or similarly complex environments
o Strong country network preferred for regional offices.
