Board in Review March 20, 2017
The El Reno Board of Education met in regular session on Monday March 20, 2017 at 5:30 pm in the board room of the Administration Building, 100 S. Bickford, El Reno, Oklahoma. The following board members were present: Mr. Steve Jensen, Dr. Dorrie Parrott, Mr. Scott McBee, Mr. Curtis Blanc and Mr. Craig McVay, superintendent. Mrs. Tricia Hobson was absent
Mr. Steve Jensen, president, called the meeting to order at 5:30pm
Re-appointment of Mrs. Laura Kennedy as Board & Minutes Clerk
Re-organization of board: President- Mr. Steve Jensen; Vice President- Dr. Dorrie Parrott, Executive Session Minutes Clerk- Mr. Scott McBee, Mrs. Tricia Hobson, member and Mr. Curtis Blanc, member
Approval of 2015-2016 Audit presentation by Wilson Dotson & Associates
Mr. Goucher gave the financial status of the district
Consent Items Approved:
A. February 13, 2017 regular board meeting minutes
B. Financial statement, activity fund report, investment recommendations, account creations or adjustments, fund transfers, expenditure comparison, all claims, encumbrances, purchase orders, activity fund transfers, expenditures, change orders and budget adjustments
C. Authorize the Superintendent of Schools of El Reno ISD #34 and or designee, Judy Lippoldt, as authorized representative of this school district for all federal programs including E-Rate and Child Nutrition, and designated custodian for the general fund, building fund, child nutrition fund, bond fund, activity fund, all state programs and all other school programs and activities
D. Summer Reading Academy dates
E. Art Club Field Trip to Dallas
F. Review and revision of date for board policy DEE-R-Travel Reimbursement
G. Anonymous donation for Junior High computers in the amount of $49,000.00
H. Renewal of service agreement with Savannah Station Therapeutic Riding Program for 2017-2018
I. New activity fund sub-account for Boys Soccer
Current Business Approved:
Set May 5, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the School Administration Building, 100 S. Bickford, El Reno, Ok for the sale of the $2,815,000 Building Bonds of this School District,
Superintendent’s Report- Mr. McVay recognized the district as a Certified Healthy School District. He also praised the Ag department for their success at OYE this year
