A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Helen Pulliam Price.

WHEREAS, Helen Pulliam Price, daughter of the late Joseph and Etta Pulliam, passed away on March 16, 2006, at the age of 74 years, and we pause to honor her memory and the legacy of a life well-lived. Active in local and state politics for many years, Helen Price was not only an outstanding asset to the campaigns in which she participated, but she also served the people of the Commonwealth as Executive Secretary for Governor Wendell Ford, and relocated to Washington, D.C., to continue her public service when he became a member of the United States Senate. On a local level, she served as Deputy County Judge/Executive during the administration of Franklin County Judge/Executive Bob Arnold; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her public service, Helen Price gave to her community in many ways, including her efforts to organize the Pops in the Park picnic to benefit the Franklin County Family Abuse Council. She was active in the Franklin County Democratic Women's Club and was past president of FIFI, the "Financially Interested Female Investors Club." Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community, but while the loss of this outstanding Kentuckian is grievous, there is great joy in the knowledge that hers was a life of great gifts, both given and received; and

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
