Membership Officer
REPORTING TO Senior Membership & Database Officer
LOCATION RTPI’s main office at 41 Botolph Lane, London, EC3R 8DL
JOB PURPOSE
The Membership Officer operates as a member of the membership team which is responsible for ensuring all new members to the RTPI are elected according to the eligibility criteria for that class of membership and that potential members are informed about the most appropriate pathway to membership.
The role involves the administration of the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) which is the RTPI’s main pathway to chartered membership as well as other professional classes. It is a customer contact role with extensive engagement with new members, existing members, professional assessors, governance committees and other internal stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Membership Officer has the following duties:
· To respond to queries from members and potential members about applying for and managing their membership;
· To assist in the administration of the APC including responding to queries, liaising with assessors, mentors and employers and developing and reviewing candidate guidance;
· To process applications for all classes of membership making judgements about eligibility based on the relevant criteria;
· To maintain and update the membership database and extract reports as required;
· To participate in the on-going process of increasing the efficiency of the membership function within the RTPI
· To undertake special projects as directed by the Head of Membership
