(Broad overview of what the project/event is to achieve) / The ABC123 club are hosting ‘Mr John Smith’ of the Lavender Company, to present at the University of Wollongong. This event is more than a presentation; It’s purpose is to inform students and staff of XYZ Topics and Issues in the industry.

(What things will be delivered by the project/event?) / Expand the knowledge of students in XYZ area and apply their theoretical knowledge with practical case studies. The networking event will provide students with contacts that may be useful later on.

Community and Industry Outreach: this event will strengthen ties between the university and both alumni and professional bodies. For example, we intend to invite speakers from organisations such
Social: students will be able to meet peers from the Faculty
Student Life: the seminar will increase student satisfaction with, and loyalty to, the faculty and university.
Learning support: the seminar will help to create more well-rounded graduates – academically strong and career-ready.

Constraints and Assumptions
(Project/event assumptions, circumstances and events that need to occur for the project/event to be successful, but are outside the control of the project/event team) / Attendance – for a high-profile speaker such as John Smith, it is important to have a good turnout of students and other interested parties.
Venue availability – booking appropriate venues has proved difficult in the past, but since the event is going to be in the evening, we don’t anticipate any major issues this time. We hope to book one of the lecture theatres in Building 67, ideally.
