RAMSEY RECREATION COMMISSION
MINUTES OF MEETING
MARCH 16, 2015
The regular meeting of the Ramsey Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman Re’ at 7:32 p.m. Also present were Mr. Blasius, Mrs. Oliver, Mr. Popolo, Mr. Winterhalter, and Mr. Wittmann, Commissioners, Council Liaison Jones (arrived at 7:42 p.m.), and Recreation Supervisor Patterson. Mrs. Mandel was absent.
MINUTES
Mrs. Oliver moved that the minutes of the February 16, 2015 meeting be accepted as amended, seconded by Mr. Popolo, and passed.
ACTIVITY REPORTS (OLD/NEW BUSINESS)
Bowling started on Friday, February 6th. Sign-ups will continue throughout the season since there are only forty participants.
Mrs. Oliver reported that the wrestling program has ended. A lot of the participants went to regionals.
The basketball program has approximately three hundred fifty participants. The foul shooting contest will take place on Saturday, March 21st. Mr. Popolo reported that the Challenger basketball program went well. If possible, the cage will be left at Dater.
The Easter egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, starting at 10 a.m. Since a raindate of Sunday, March 29th will not be possible, Mr. Patterson found out that the building at Adorno can be used if there is inclement weather. The borough was asked to clean the grounds at Adorno and Councilman Jones indicated that DPW will do so before the 28th. Ms. Re’ noted that those who find the gold coins in the plastic eggs will be given stuffed animals or baskets. An Easter bunny is still needed, perhaps someone who needs community service hours. Any Commissioners who will be helping out with the Easter egg hunt should be at Adorno at 8:30 a.m.
Mr. Patterson reviewed the upcoming events from his list of “Recreation Activities 2015,” some of which will be included in the article for the spring edition of the Ramsey Journal.
Mr. Tireman will attend the April meeting to finalize the details for the 2015 summer camp.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 7:53 p.m. upon motion by Mr. Winterhalter, seconded by Mr. Wittmann, and passed.
