MEETING MINUTES forThursday, January 12th, 2017

  1. Meeting called to order at 9:30am.Welcome to Whitehall and Introductions were made.
  2. Minutes of Previous meeting were approved without changes.
  3. No Old business

  5. PDM Update discussed, Tom recommended Doug get in touch with Ann Schwinn regarding including Drought in PDM.
  6. Annex D, Public Information of the county EOP was discussed. Decision to move county PIO function under DES office was approved.
  7. Training and exercise plan was approved.
  8. Radio Cache/MOU with Public Health was presented.
  9. Agency Reports:
  10. DES: Low power station funding was discussed. Possibility of using PILT money as a bridge to the mil funding was presented. Doug will follow up. HMEP RFP review and decision assigned by unanimous vote to subcommittee consisting of Cory Kirsch, Kristi Burns, and Doug Dodge. Tom announced that the DNRC drought mitigation grant was approved. Doug Dodge was unanimously approved to continue to serve as chair of the Jefferson County LEPC.
  11. Commissioner’s report: At the beginning of March, Kountz bridge will be closed to all traffic. Emergency routes were discussed. Public education about the closure was discussed.
  12. Sheriff’s Office: No Report
  13. Public Health: No Report
  14. Roundtable:
  15. Lee questioned whether there is a backup for Century Link if a fiber was cut. Also discussed maintenance needs of low power radio stations.
  16. Tom asked about possibility of grant funds for smart board in alternate EOC’s. Doug will follow up.
  17. Cory asked Doug to follow up with Ravalli County DES regarding any lessons learned from the Roaring Lion Fire.
