(1) HBA – “ NOP’s” Moved Lobethal, 2nd Mt Barker “Carried” 22- 4” (2) HBA – “To even out the competition.” Moved Lobethal, 2nd Mt Barker.

Lenswood discussed the possibility of Clubs not having the opportunity to have a Division One side. President G.Weyland acknowledge that and said that was not the intent of the motion. Some discussion on Promotion and Relegation.

President G.Weyland read out a letter from Bowls SA, dated 11th July 2017.

Stating it was against the laws of bowls.

A vote was then taken. Defeated 6 – 20

President G.Weyland then said that the matter will not return to the meeting.

The Gumeracha Club should take up the matter with Bowls SA, if they wish to go further with the motion.

The dumping of bowls was discussed, President G. Weyland again spoke of the

Mt Pleasant (Western Australia) policy.

Eventually it was decided not to except a standard policy, all clubs are to formulate their own policy.

8 GENERAL BUSINESS

Following the acceptance of a motion to “even out the competitions”, the HBA Executive requested delegates to change the Mid Week nominations to 8 sides in Division 1 & 2. “CARRIED”

Discussion on the Saturday pennant draw, Uraidla to change their matches to play at both Woodside and Oakbank.

Lobethal will wait and see if their green is available or transfer the matches as needed.

The Mid Week draw can be completed tonight after the meeting now that we know how the makeup will be.

8 GENERAL BUSINESS Cont.

R.Faehrmann asked about the short season for both Mid Week and Saturday Division two. There are dates that we cannot play pennants for the Saturday season, leaving the 18 weeks. Mid week we were looking for 2 even rounds but recognised that it would have been a short season

.

The dates for the Champ of Champ dates have been published, the venues and the draws are still to be done.

Triples will be played with 2 bowls per bowler.

With the Motion No 4 carried we have to have two nominations to inspect the greens for the championships, with both toilets and lighting to be considered.

Nominations - P.Mangelsdorf and H.Fells along with an Executive committee member. H.Fells suggested that Thursday’s may be a good day to inspect.

Some of the club contacts on the Web Site are still not up to date.

Wheels on the various walkers on the greens should be nematic.

G.Weyland stated that G.Hopkins will take on the roll of the women’s press reporting.

The Oakbank Club will have social bowls on Sundays leading up to the season opening.

B.Young reported that 16 players had their umpire reaccreditation completed at Mt Barker.

The ladies Patrons day is to be held at Mt Pleasant, 9.30am for a 10.00am starting next Thursday.

A possible “Special” meeting in September is still to be set.
