Part-Time PERSONAL TRAINER Salary Range: $ 20.00 - $25.00 per hour (training rate- based on years of experience and certifications)
This position calls for a strong commitment to the YMCA movement, Activate America and the Mission of the McGaw YMCA. This person is responsible for designing exercise programs and assisting clients with their exercise routine. The Personal Trainer provides individual, small group and/or class instruction in fitness program development, strength, and cardiovascular training.
Days/Hours: Up to 30 hours Varies includes weekend and evening hours
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
q Nationally certified as Personal Trainer (ACE, ACSM, etc)
q Additional Required Certifications: CPR, AED, First Aid
q Exceptional interpersonal skills and display a high level of customer service
q Highly organized, with computer skills for tracking personal training clients
q Minimum 1-2 years personal training experience preferred

CHILDREN’S CENTER
Part-Time ASSOCIATE PRESCHOOL TEACHER Salary Range: $9.00-$12.00 per hour
The Associate Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. The Associate Teacher works with the teaching team to plan, implement, as well as supervise the activities in a curriculum that is in accordance with the developmentally appropriate practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), DCFS regulations and McGaw YMCA operational policies. This position requires active participation with other members of the teaching team and parents to assess and address the needs of individual children and ensure that the child’s and family’s needs are supported.
Days/Hours: Monday and Friday 8:15 am to 6:15 pm
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
q A minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
q 1-3 years’ experience in a nursery school, kindergarten or licensed childcare center
q Demonstrated experience working children age 3-5 years old
q Comfortable swimming in water up to 9 feet deep
q Must be able to exercise mature judgment and decision-making skills
q YMCA experience preferred
q Knowledge of DCFS licensing standards
q Experience in a NAEYC accredited center preferred

CHILDREN’S CENTER
Part-Time SUMMER CAMP SCHOOL AGE LEAD TEACHER Salary Range: $9.00-$11.00 per hour
The school age lead teacher is responsible for the planning, supervision, development and implementation of activities with his/her assigned group, consisting of 24-30 children. These activities will fall within the guidelines of DCFS and the McGaw YMCA Children’s Center operational policies, as well as be developmentally appropriate for the age group. The lead instructor will work closely with an assistant teacher, and also serve as a mentor and role model to him or her. The lead teacher is also responsible for creating a comfortable and open relationship with parents, communicating important information to parents, and assessing the needs of individual children and families when needed. The available positions fall under programs such as Camp WaNaGo, Summer Adventure Club, and Summer Learning.
Days/Hours: May 4th: New Staff Orientation/ May 18th: Camp Planning Day
June 10th– August 16th: 20-38 hours per week, depending on program
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
q 2 years of college with at least 6 semester hours in recreation, child development, physical development or fine arts. 1-3 years experience in a school age program or a high school diploma with proof of 1320 clock hours of experience in a school age program
q Demonstrated experience working with school age children
q Must be able to exercise mature judgment and decision-making skills.
q Must be highly organized and able to multi-task effectively.
q Must have good communication skills.
q The willingness to participate in swimming enrichment classes and the ability to feel comfortable in water up to 9’ deep.
q Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification

BUILDING SERVICES
Full-Time SENIOR DIRECTOR, BUILDING SERVICES Salary Range: $52,000-$65,000
The Senior Director of Building Operations is responsible for ensuring effective physical plant operations and maintenance at the 1000 Grove Street building, while providing support and resources as needed to offsite local branches. This position works closely with senior management, outside vendors and consultants as well as volunteers, reporting directly to the Chief Shared Services Officer. Responsible for overseeing strategic building services initiatives as well as day to day maintenance and custodial needs. The individual must be committed to providing excellent service, and have a proactive approach to managing a broad range of building services issues.
Specific responsibilities:
· Develop annual plan for life safety and structural systems including routine and preventative maintenance, managing the effective and efficient completion of plans. Inform management of the short-term and long-term maintenance issues.
· Participate in the Building Committee meetings to develop short term and long term plans for building upgrades, facility improvement and ongoing maintenance.
· Management of building projects, including selection of vendors and oversight of projects through successful completion.
· Manage to the annual budget of $1.6 M and oversee effective implementation of a $100K-250K annual capital expenditure budget.
· Responsible for hiring an effective maintenance/custodial team, ensuring that the team is trained, adequately supervised, motivated and that the department is managed in conformity with Association Diversity Initiative and supports achievement of the Strategic Plan.
· Management of outside vendors supplying services to the Y, assessing performance against standards and replacing with qualified vendors when necessary.
· Building Services department plays a key role in providing support to the Association and is required to provide excellent customer service, a positive attitude towards their role when dealing with all members and staff, and held accountable for member satisfaction as to general appearance and cleanliness of the facility.
· Another key role is to ensure building security and to work with the management team and building committee to develop life safety and emergency procedures as part of the Y’s development of formal disaster recovery plans.
· Finally, is responsible for personal continuing education to keep current with necessary industry standards for building operations as well as required technical skills
Days/Hours: Full- Time Exempt position-flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends as needed.
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
q 10 years or more of experience managing building and maintenance operations, including HVAC and life safety (experience in maintaining pool operations a plus)
q Leadership experience/ability in recruiting, hiring, and effectively managing staff and volunteers, while building and maintaining a highly motivated and productive team environment
q Proven experience of successful management of budgets
q College degree preferred and specifically related technical education or certifications
q Computer skills

BUILDING SERVICES
Full-Time NIGHT MANAGER, BUILDING SERVICES Salary Range: $31,748 - $39,685
This position is responsible for the McGaw YMCA Building and Residence operations at 1000 Grove Street during the night shift (9:00pm - 5:00 a.m., 5 nights including one weekend night), including management of maintenance and custodial staff, problem solving, assessing issues and contacting appropriate Leadership Team members when necessary. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all employees have a clear understanding of the standard operating procedures surrounding security of the building and the safety of staff and member residents. Work with Maintenance Management to create adequate emergency procedures as part of the Y’s development of formal disaster recovery plans. In addition this position is also responsible for a specific area to clean and maintain on a nightly basis.
Days/Hours: 2nd/3rd shirt position – 5 nights a week including one weekend night. Need to be available for mid-day hours for meetings, and facility assessment.
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
q 4-5 years of experience managing building custodial operations and facilities management
q Leadership experience/ability in recruiting, hiring, and effectively managing staff while maintaining a high productivity team environment
