AVID

AVID is designed to increase school-wide learning and performance. The mission of AVID is to assist all students—especially the least served students—to succeed in a rigorous curriculum and to enroll in a four-year university.

AVID OBJECTIVES

※  To provide students with academic instruction and other support in preparation for eligibility to enter a four year college or university

※  To improve students’ study and organizational skills

※  To motivate AVID students to seek a college education

※  To increase students’ level of career awareness

※  To encourage students to take challenging courses and provide support in order to ensure success

WHO MAY APPLY

The AVID program is for students who have been traditionally underrepresented at public universities.

Students with Academic Potential

※  Average to high test scores

※  2.0-3.5 GPA

※  College potential with support

※  Desire and determination to be successful and want to go to college

Meets One or More of the Following Criteria

※  First to attend college

※  Historically underserved in four-year colleges

※  Low income

※  Special circumstances
