Nolan’s 8th grade Mustangs took their home court for the final time to host the Eastern Hills Panthers. The Mustangs closed out the regular season with two victories!
The Mustang B- team opened the night with a 27-22 win. Every player contributed with great effort in their first win of the season! Erik Garcia, Harriah Garner and Marcus Runner led the scorers with 4 points each. Damarrion Jones added 3 points with good free throw shooting. Garrin Bentley, Richard Gutierrez, Shannon Corley, Daniel Adams, Jorge Morales, and Hunter Cox all had 2 points. Bairo Velasco, Xander Rivera, and Timothy Thompson played well defensively.
As the Mustangs A-team took the floor, the intensity escalated rapidly. After falling behind in the first quarter, the Mustangs turned on the defense, creating 18 steals, and finished with a strong second half to secure a 49-38 victory.Kenterrius Johnson came off the bench to lead the Mustangs with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Natavian Moffett shut down the Panthers leading scorer in the 4th quarter while dropping in 13 points, snatching 6 steals, pulling down 5 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Keshawn Hassel added 8 points and a steal. Jose Rivera g 7 points. Devonte Tezino had 4 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, and 2 assists. Kyler Villalba put in 2 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. Dartrell Wilson had a single point, but led the team defensively with 5 stelas and 5 rebounds. Jalen Bell, Paul McGahee, Javier Corral, and Elijah Armour played well, collecting rebounds and creating turnovers that helped the Mustangs secure the win on their home court.
