MINUTES / DISCUSSION/COMMENTS / OUTCOME/FOLLOW UP1. Approval of Minutes, 1/23/07 / Corrections under program updates: #3-March 6th; #5 – XP Windows; #6 – Mexican pavers; #10 - Turnitin / Motion to approve minutes with corrections (Barembaum/Durdella) passed unanimously.

1. Student Services Reorganizations (funded through credit matriculation)
a).475 Career Guidance Specialist (new)
b)Student Services Specialist (Outreach) from .475 TO 1.0 FTE
c)TransferCenter Specialist from .475 to 1.0 FTE
d)Counseling Assistant (Counseling Division) from .475 to 1.0 FTE / All requested reorganizations are funded by matriculation dollars that have been restored (using approx $140,522 of the restored $300,000). It is anticipated that matriculation will be consistent and not require general funds to pay for these changes in the future. / Motion to approve all four reorganizations and waive the second readings (Durdella/Kawa) passed unanimously.

All SB361 certificates/courses have been input on-line with one day to spare. Jose thanked the faculty and staff at OEC for their efforts to accomplish this arduous task.
Annual parking space fund raiser is going on now – please see classified reps to purchase tickets. Next meeting is Tuesday, March 6.
On-going advertisements: “Orange Magazine”-includes Continuing Education ad and article; “Orange Business News”-includes ad on community services business classes.
The Outlook calendar has moved some calendar items ahead by one hour, during the period of March 12-April 1. ITS is aware.
Connie Wilson was thanked for creating the next issue of the Technology Committee newsletter.
Steve reported he is currently waiting for the chip that will enable the transmitter to adjust campus clocks with daylight savings.
Reminder: District funds will be allocated in May according to the requests already received; spending can begin in July.
Construction updates:
a) Landscaping is scheduled to be complete by the end of June.
b) Science building bids – following change has occurred since the meeting -bids due March 1 are now due March 13. Completion date could be October 2008.
c)Humanities/Social Science building – no architect approved at this time.
d)Gymnasium – the Facilities Committee reviewed the drawings submitted by the Austin Co (distributed at this time also). The Austin Co is being invited to speak to the committee at their meeting next month. The estimated cost for the Austin design is approximately $20 million, and the original estimate for Measure O was $30-40 million. The aquatic center included in the drawing may be a second-stage construction. Note: the Mater Dei example is a non-DSA and non-public works project.
Quadrennial reviews must include SLOs.
Discussions at C&I regarding common curriculum.
The Teacher Prep Pipeline Grant received a passing score, placed as #10 on the list, but the cut off for funding was #8.
Study results are indicating that students coming to the college through Early Decision are a successful group.
Presentations were made at the last Senate meeting regarding Drinking and Smoking Cessation (Beth Hoffman), and the Web Task Force (Don Busche). Discussions also about Board Policy 6117 and administrative regulations.
Note: Morrie Barembaum and Danielle Martino will be participating this Friday night at the McPherson Middle School Science Night.
A report regarding Counseling services at both colleges was presented to the Board last Monday night. The conversation turned to transfers.
