District 8 Fire Training Meeting

The meeting began with introductions.
At the last meeting it was discussed that the mission statement should be shorter. Tim Deckard read the committee how the shortened mission statement should read.
John Hooker told the committee when the district planning council meeting is and what time. He also told the committee about the district wide exercise and told the members that if they would like to participate in the exercise that they are more then welcome to do so. He went over some of the details of the exercise.
The committee discussed ideas about writing a plan for the Fire Training District.
The committee also looked at the plans from District 3 and District 7. John Buckman had given the document to Mr. Hooker to share with the committee to review. Mr. Hooker told the committee to look over the document and at the next meeting the committee will discuss writing a plan. John Buckman told his comments on the plans and what District 8’s plan needed to consist of. Mr. Buckman also told the committee about each district having training centers within their district for future training classes.
Some of the things on the agenda and other things couldn’t be discussed further because several of the members were absent from the meeting.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Columbus Fire Department. The time is to be announced.
