Research Activity of Department of EE
This department has 10 experienced faculty members. Among which 4 faculty members havingPh.D degree and rest are enrolled their names for Ph.D in nearby reputed universities; Jadavpur University, IIEST(Shibpur), Calcutta University.
Research areas and research interests of our departments are; Power Systems, Electric Machines, Robust Control Systems, Nonlinear Control Systems, Soft Computation Techniques, Embedded Systems, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers, Power Electronics, Smart Grid, dSpace & FPGA.
Our faculty members are involved in research & consultancy work. They attain National and International conferences regularly in India and in aboard to build & share their expertise with different researchers.
Some faculty are member of Editorial Board of International Journals and actively involved in review of different journals and conferences papers.
Our senior faculty members are guiding Ph.D scholars. At present 4 Ph.D scholars are working in different areas.
Presently we have one Advance Laboratory (Power Electronics & Drives) and one advance research equipment setup (PLC & SCADA, Siemens).
The department has special simulation software ‘NEPLAN’. It is a software tool to analyze, plan, optimize and simulate electrical, water, gas and district heating networks. It is suitable especially for Renewable Energy System andSmart Grid application.
Our faculty members are involved in Real Time research work in advance R&D Laboratory, RCCIIT. This R&D lab is setup by joint collaboration with National Instruments (NI), USA. This Laboratory is highly suitable for research in real time measurement, control and communications of different Electrical and Process control parameters, Image processing etc.
