Review of the previous literature on group G streptococcalendocarditis.

This analysis was performed by a systematic search in Pubmed database using the term [Group G streptococci] OR [S. dysgalactiae] OR [beta-hemolytic streptococci] AND [endocarditis] OR [bacteremia]. We were able to identify 75 cases of GGS endocarditis in 32 articles between 1978 and 2014. Among these, only 5 (accounting for 6 cases) reported their methods of species identification and only 4 (accounting for 4 cases) used molecular tools.
