Womb transplants raise ethical concerns

Part B:

1. The ethical issue which has been raised in this article is that doctors in Sweden are now one step near to giving women without a womb a chance to give birth to their own child, but their groundbreaking procedure is raising ethical eyebrows in Catholic circles. The pioneering surgery, which potentially could replace surrogate mothers, offers new hope for thousands of childless women, but it is raising ethical and moral questions within the context of Church teaching that affect both recipient and giver. For the recipient the issues concern how a child will ultimately be conceived. For the donor the issues pertain to Church teaching on procreation.

2. The society, responding to this issue be not really good because as the Moira McQueen, the executive director of the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute, is saying that she never oppose woman to receiving a transplanted womb, but although she also said maybe the ethical question could arise for the donors.

3. In my opinion all this type of transplants has to be stopped which causes the ethical concerns because this type of transplants damage the whole life of a woman and also causes many other medical concerns. The other option is if the doctors have yet to perfect the transplant procedure to the point where a woman’s Fallopian tubes can be connected to the womb to allow her to get pregnant naturally then it be a good thing too.

4. This issue impacts our global community be like the Catholic religion believe that the use of in vitro fertilization is definitely wrong, “it shows that they are not being born through an act that involves procreativity and unity. And then from that perspective the Catholic Church is saying that it (womb transplant) is not a safe idea”. So this idea will make a big difference between catholic and surgery person which will also affect the global community.

Part C

1. The Kant philosopher address this situation be like as he told in his ethical theorists that good is only good if it is done out of good will and provides no person gain so this mean that he don’t have any problem with woman receiving a transplanted but he care about that it couldn’t cause any person gain. So basically his point of view is to not to disturb anyone personal life because of that effect.
