Installing multiple versions of the AQX server service on the same server

Installing multiple versions of the AQX server service is almost exactly the same as a single server installation. So for the basic instructions please consult the standard “AdQuest Millennium Server Installation Guide.docx” document.

The differences are:

a)The name of the server virtual directories etc will need to de different to you usual server setup.

b)Your AQX processing .dll will need to be a different name to the standard processing .dll (note this file cannot be renamed, you must use a different file that L&J will supply)

This document will only provide the differences to the basic installation. Please read the instructions to install the server in the “AdQuest Millennium Server Installation Guide.docx” document and reference this document for the additional steps if required at each stage.

  1. L&J suggests that you select a naming convention that is then used throughout the whole install to reduce confusion. i.e a Normal installation uses “AQX” as the server name, virtual directory etc etc, we suggest you select a name like “AQX_Historical” or “AQX_Server2” and then maintain this name throughout the install. For the sake of this document I will use the example “AQX_Server2” however you can select a name of your choice as long as you use the same name everywhere.
  1. Install the new server as per the “3. Installing the AdQuest Millennium Server
  2. At point 1: Use normal instructions
  3. At point 2:you must select a different folder location to your existing AQX server install.
  4. At point 3: Use normal instructions
  5. At point 4:you must select a different server from the “Country” list. You CANNOT use the same server name twice for additional servers of the server will not work. The first install is usually AQX<COUNTRY NAME>, so for additional installations use another version with a number. In my example I will assume you have used AQXServer2. Then select NEXT.
