· 3 ring notebook with 4 dividers
· Notebook paper
· Pencils (NO PENS!)
· Red or blue pen for grading
· 1 box of Kleenex
· 1 pack of AAA batteries
Grading Procedures:
· 10% Homework / Classwork
· 20% Quizzes
· 50% Tests and Projects
· 20% 9 Week Exam
Homework: Homework will be assigned throughout the year. In order for you to succeed in this class, you must do ALL homework. Math involves practice, and homework is a good way to get that practice and also receive feedback on your progress. Late homework can be turned in the NEXT DAY for a maximum grade of a 70 or the NEXT CLASS MEETING for maximum grade of a 50.
Notebook: You will be required to keep an organized notebook of all notes, assignments, quizzes, and reviews. It must be in order by unit, separated by dividers. Notebooks will be due each 9 week period for a TEST grade. This should be an easy 100!
Quizzes: We will have several quizzes throughout each unit over homework and daily work. We will do most of our quizzes online through Edmodo and Socrative. You are expected to take notes in class and these notes can often be used on quizzes. Bring your notebook every day!
Tests: There will be at least 3 major tests and/or projects each 9 week period. These will count as 50% of your 9 week average.
Absences: Make-up work is the student’s responsibility. Check Edmodo for missed assignments and your classmates for missed notes. (All notes given in class are required for notebook quizzes.) We will work two lessons most class days, so be sure to stay on top of all missed assignments.
*Cheating will not be tolerated. Doing so will automatically result in a grade of a zero for that assignment and I will personally contact your parents.
