9.32 JEFFERSON COUNTY 4/8/2009

9.32.1 SYSTEM SUMMARY

Jefferson County is a type 4, 9-1-1 system consisting of one Primary PSAP serving Jefferson and portions of Madison County. The PSAP is located in the County Sheriff's Office and directly dispatches calls for the Sheriff's Department. There are three OPX lines for transferring calls to the Monticello Police and Jefferson County Fire Rescue. The calls from the portions of Jefferson County that are not served by the Jefferson County 9-1-1 system are handled by the Madison, Taylor and Wakulla County 9-1-1 systems. Likewise, calls from the part of Madison County served by the Jefferson County 9-1-1 system are handled by the Jefferson County 9-1-1 system.

9.32.2 SYSTEM MANAGEMENT

The systems are operated and managed by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The responsible fiscal agents are the Board of County Commissioners.

9.32.3 INTERLOCAL AGREEMENTS

Table 9.33-3 shows the required interlocal agreements for the Jefferson County 9-1-1 system. Typical interlocal agreements are shown in the Appendix.
