PTA GENERAL MEETING

October 13, 2015

Dr. Lewis welcomed everyone and said the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jill Mabe, PTA President, thanked everyone for coming to the meeting. She reminded everyone of the book fair and asked them to attend and show their support for the school. She announced the minutes from the last general meetingwill not be read. However, they are posted on the website.

Roberta Wright read the treasurer’s report. The beginning balance is $6,737.72;Disbursements: $725.77; Income: $1,667.74; and the ending balance is $7,679.69. PTA members who would like a copy of the proposed budget please see a PTA board member.

PTA membership is $5.00 for each person. We currently have 101 members.

Jill discussed the short term and long term volunteer. The short term is yearly and the long term is through High School with a onetime fee. You must have this to volunteer for any school events.

School Skate will be every 3rd Tuesday of each month. It will be at Eden Roll-a-bout from 5:30-7:30. The next one is October 20th.

Wendy’s Night will be the 1st Tuesday of each month. The next Wendy’s Night is November 3rd. PTA gets 15% of sales from 5-8. Just tell them you are there for DMES.

Chick-Fil-A Night will be the 4th Tuesday of each month. The next one is October 27th. PTA gets $1.00 for every cookie sold from 5-8. Just tell them you are there for DMES. The class with the most students to attend gets a classroom Chic-Fil-A party. Mrs. Cox’s class won for the month of September.

Kroger Rewards-Please join. Register on Kroger’s website under community rewards and choose DMES.PTA will get a percentage every time you shop and use your Kroger’s card. No cost to you! The last quarter we received $326.00, and we have 33 households entered.

Color Run 3k- November 7th at Paces Airport from 8-1. We are looking for sponsorships and volunteers. Please register for this fun event and support the school. We hope to have 200 participate. If we get 200 participants, the students get to paint the principal. Pre- register by October 21st to guarantee a T-shirt, color pack and fun pack. All proceeds from this event will go for the outdoor learning center. We have currently raised $2,000.00 for the outdoor learning center.
