Hi Match Pointers,
For the July 17-19 Choose Your Own Partner Women/Men's Doubles (and hopefully from now on) we will use the following guidelines for the divisions. If your partner is in the higher division, you will have to play up. So, line up your partner and enter now.
A+
USTA: Strong 4.5 players and higher. You have maintained a 4.5 or higher NTRP rating for 3 or more consecutive seasons.
General: you are a high level tennis player. You probably played college tennis but if not, you play at a similar level to those that have. If you play Interclub or any other non-USTA league, you are on the highest level teams. Aside from organized leagues, you find it difficult to locate players at your level with whom to play.
A
USTA: 4.0 players. You play competitively at the 4.0 level. You may have wavered between the 4.0 and 4.5 ratings, but have not stayed at the 4.5 level for consecutive seasons.
General: You have a wide variety of shots, a strong serve with good placement ability, and great consistency. You play regularly and competitively.
B
USTA: 3.5 players. You may have wavered between the 3.5 and 4.0 ratings, but have not stayed at the 4.0 level for consecutive seasons.
General: You have a good range of shots but you're still developing the more advanced shots as well as consistency, and continue to work on power and placement in your serve.
C
USTA: 3.0 players. You may have wavered between the 3.0 and 3.5 ratings, but have not stayed at the 3.5 level for consecutive seasons.
General: You are a recreational player seeking more experience with match play. You are developing your tennis skills, just getting back into the game after a hiatus, or have reduced mobility due to an injury or other factors.
